Badass Birthday
Today, one hundred and two years ago, in 1923, in Connecticut was born Ted Knight!
There are several reasons he's a badass.
The main one is as weatherman Ted Baxter on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. He won two Emmys for that portrayal.
After that show he starred in his own sitcom, Too Close For Comfort, for several years.
He's also known as the Judge from the Caddyshack movie.
And the one I knew his the most from first is as the announcer on the Super Friends cartoon.
I heard his voice many many MANY Saturday mornings a pre-pubescent lil Polt in the mid to late 70s.
Ted died in 1986 at the age of 62 from complications of colon cancer.
