I took the road less traveled by (Part 873)...

This map is from 1949. It shows plans in the case of a Soviet invasion of Western Europe.
Apparently, we'd allow them to overrun West Germany, but we'd hold them at the Rhine and then, supposedly, we'd just nuke em from the air.
