Badass Birthday
In 1962, in Mississippi, Jerry Rice was born.
I have never been a fan of the San Francisco 49ers, in fact I have actively hated the team most of my life. I have not liked very many of their players either, most seeming to be pretty arrogant and cocky (Joe Montana being a notable exception to this).
Having said all that, I can't help but feel respect for Jerry Rice. He had a 20 year career as a wide receiver, won 3 Super Bowls and went to 13 Pro Bowls. He also holds many NFL records, among them:
Career receptions: 1549
Career receiving yards: 22, 895
Career receiving touchdown: 197
Career total touchdowns; 208
Career all-purpose yards: 23, 546
Most consecutive starts by a receiver: 176 (that's 11 YEARS worth of starting every game!)
Consecutive games with at least one reception: 274
I mean, what else could you call someone who does ALL THAT except for badass!
