He of course led the UK through World War II to victory. And if that wasn't enough to make him a badass (which is certainly IS), in addition to being Prime Minister he was also, at one point or another, President Of The Board Of Trade, Home Secretary, First Lord Of The Admiralty, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Secretary of State for War And Air.

Badass Birthday

In 1976, in South Carolina, Chadwick Boseman was born.

He played several important roles including Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson, James Brown and of course the groundbreaking Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Along the way, he received a Screen Actors Guild award, a Golden Globe award and an Academy Award Nomination.

And all that IS impressive. But what makes him a badass is the fact the while playing Black Panther and all the physical activity involved in that, he was privately battling colon cancer.

Sadly, he passed in 2020 and the young age of just 44.

And so, today as it's the weekend after Thanksgiving, it's my traditional time to decorate for Christmas. Mom came in and we got the room moved around, the tree put together and the decorations on the tree, with only a lil quibbling about putting the lights on it. Then I hung up and put out most of the other decorations myself. She went home, and I went to get some Chinese for lunch.

And The Purple Christmas Tree Ornament For 2025. It's more frilly, more fancy-schmancy than I usually get but honestly, it's the only one I could find.

So yesterday, on Thanksgiving, as is my tradition (for more than 25 years), I did my Christmas Cards. I filled out 83 cards, addressed the envelopes, sealed them shut, affixed return address labels, and put stamps on them. I started at 3:30 pm on the dot and finished at 7:03 pm: 3 hours and 33 minutes to do them all.
