My take on the first Presidential debate of 2016?

Well, perhaps unsurprisingly, I thought Hillary 'won' it. She was presidential, if a bit wonky in her answers. I don't think she was very good in the first, say quarter or third of the debate, but hit her stride after that. She was prepared, solid, and knew her stuff. Her answer, speaking directly to the camera to our allies about America's honoring our commitments, was a knockout blow on him.

Trump started out not too bad, but as it went on, he became rude, petulant, and overbearing. He had no answers, although he was quite good at pointing out what problems are, but he offered no solutions...not that he ever has. His facial expressions, his verbal interruptions, his flailing body language....well if nothing else, they did not look presidential.

We're gonna have to wait a few days for the polling to come in to see what the voters thought. So sum up mine, I dont think she 'hit it out of the park', but she looked presidential while he.....well, he clearly didn't.

I'll just end with this graphic I saw this evening:

If nothing else, it shows how rude he was throughout the entire debate.

Just another bale of hay, and the horses pass....

Mom and I have been talking about finally going to a corn maze. We've been mentioning doing this for five years or more, and it never occurred.

But this year, we're really gonna try. I already looked up places close by. I mentioned it to my cousin about going along and taking her two sons (aged 12 & 10) along. It's something they would enjoy. So it looks like this might happen this year finally.

But every time we talked about it this weekend, for some reason, I could NOT properly pronounce "bales of hay". Every time, it came out "hales of bay". And even today, when mom and I talked again on the phone, I said once again, "hales of bay".

Got no idea where that's coming from, but I hope it stops. It's a smidge embarrassing to repeat the same mistake over and over again.
