Captain Carrot and The Zoo Crew was a team of anthromorphic superhero animals from DC Comics in the early 80s.  It wasn't taken seriously, but keeping that in mind, the stories were fun and I enjoyed them for the 5 years or so that they were published.

Today we have a RAINBOW of Samantha Steven's Pride Fashions. 

Ya know, years ago, like in the 70s or 80s, I remember someone saying "You can tell a gay man by asking him which reruns he likes better: Bewitched or I Dream Of Jeannie".  And it's true.  If a guy prefers Jeannie, he's generally straight, if he prefers Bewitched, he's generally gay. 

Bewitched has fashion (see above), it has the drag-queen-esque Endora, it has Paul Lynne as Uncle Arthur for God's sake.  What more could a gay man ask for?

Oh MAN!  I remember this SO VIVIDLY!  

The miniseries aired over a series of days, and the day after, this was THE topic of conversation in Middle School between my peer group.  We LOVED this show so much.  And the theme song....those drums....I can still right now, after all these years, hear the beat like I'm listening to it.

Helluva miniseries!  The followup mini-series as well.  The series that followed that...not so much.  But the mini-serieses...hell yeah!

The cast of the TV Show The Diplomat.  

It's beautifully shot.  Well written (although, honestly, the more it goes on, the less plausible it gets.  But still the look of it is amazing, and the dialogue just great.  I really enjoy it, despite the somewhat implausibility of it at times. 

Great, fun show overall.

Forty three years ago, I remember being glued to the TV.  MASH wasn't always my favorite show, I didn't watch every episode as it aired, but I made SURE to catch this tearjerker.   It is still the highest rated TV episode, not including any Super Bowls, with over 105 million viewers.  And back then, mind you, the US population was around 130 million people!

I'm sure we've all heard of the sad passing of Catherine O'Hara.  I've never seen a single episode of Schitt's Creek, but I know her from where I first saw her: SCTV in the early 80s.    What a lineup!

Joe  Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Dave Thomas, Andrea Martin, John Candy and Rick Moranis.  Such great comedy geniuses. 

Sadly, in addition to Catherine O'Hara, Joe Flaherty passed on in 2024.  Ad of course, John Candy died WAY too young in 1994.

On this date, in 1900, Agnes Moorehead was born.  She had a five decade career spanning radio, TV, stage and film.  She was in Citizen can and earned in her life an Emmy and 2 Golden Globes.  But reason she's a badass is just this one role: Endora, on Bewitched!

She passed in 1974.

 Today, October 15th, is I Love Lucy Day.  

It's the 74th anniversary of the premiere of the show in 1951.  

Pluto channel on my Roku has an I Love Lucy channel where they run the episodes one right after the other 24/7/365.  And I'll turn it on sometimes to see what's playing. 

I've seen every episode at least once, some, more than a dozen times I'm sure.  And even now, sometimes I still laugh out loud.  The writer's were geniuses.  She was a genius of physical comedy. 

Lucy and the candy assembly line.  Lucy and the freezer.  Lucy doing the tango with the eggs in her shirt.  Lucy in the vat crushing grapes.   One that I think is underrated is when she misses the ship to Europe.  And of COURSE, Vitameatavegamin.  

It truly is a classic of comedy!
