Someone book me a room (Part 149)...

Chapter 5, Page 29...

Friday, I got up a bit early and got to work a bit early.  And all hell had broken loose!  13 new clients that needed taken care of.  And Friday is the regular day off for one of the three of us in my department.  And I had to leave at noon, so yeah, it was a lil bit hectic in the morning.

I got done what i needed to get done, but I had to leave at noon, as planned.    At one, I had a dentist appointment.  Last week, we discovered a filling was old, loose and needed replaced.  So, on Friday, I went to the dentist and he took the old one out, and put a new one in.

Afterwards, I came home, and had no pain, not even after the novocaine wore off.  I spent the remainder of the day watching Babylon 5 episodes, finishing season three and beginning season 4.  For supper, I ordered a pizza.  And this was at 3PM.  I dont know why I was so hungry then, but hungry I was.  So I ordered it and ate it.  And then continued watching Babylon 5.

But since I had eaten about 2-3 hours before I usually did, my whole evening was off.  I was ready for bed at 6!  But I stayed up until 8, took my insulin shot, took my pills, and went to bed.  I read for a bit and then, before 10, was asleep.

So I just put this up yesterday, and now I have to go change everything the very next day.  Thanks O'Malley!

Democrats
Hillary Clinton: April 12, 2015 - 42 days
Bernie Sanders: April 30, 2015 - 31 days
(even though he's really an Independent)
Martin O'Malley: May 30, 2015 - 1 day

And the clown car that IS the Republican candidates

I dont have anything negative to say about O'Malley.  I worked in Maryland all through his tenure as governor, and he does have a progressive record on gay rights, immigration, minimum wage.  Also, most of my coworkers in this bright red (ie redneck) part of Maryland thought he was the next worst thing to Satan...which only convinced me to like him more.

But seriously, he's got no chance.  Not as long as Hillary stays in the race.  I guess he could be positioning himself in case she stumbles somehow and drops out.  Or he could be angling for a VP nomination.  Or, if the Republican candidate wins (God FORBID!), they he could be positioning himself for a run in 2020.  Out of this campaign, he'll at least get better name recognition.

I think his best bet is to tout his credentials and not go negative.  that won't get him the nomination, but then I dont really think he has a shot at that anyway.  And if he comes off as, and is remembered as, a nice guy who didn't upset the Democratic apple cart, that would serve him well in four or eight years.  After all, he's still a young guy, somewhere in his 50s, I think.

Come join out party, year, cause anybody just won't do....

So let's try to, over the next 18 months, see if we can keep track of the candidates.

Democrats
Hillary Clinton: April 12, 2015 - 41 days
Bernie Sanders: April 30, 2015 - 30 days
(even though he's really an Independent)

And the clown car that IS the Republican candidates

What a joke.  Ted Cruz: born in Canada to a Cuban father who's against immigration.  Rand Paul: Just as nutty as his dad.  Marco Rubio: "He vote for me cause I'm a Latino candidate NOT named Ted Cruz!"  Ben Carson: a smart neurosurgeon only capable saying stupid things.  Carly Fiorina: the only CEO running for president who ran their company into bankruptcy (at least until Trump decides to run).  Mike Huckabee: "I dropped out in 2008, and didn't bother to run in 2012, but THIS time, I'm serious!".  Rick Santorum: he couldn't even win an election in his own state as an incumbent.  George Pataki: the guy who can't even spell charisma.

Chapter 5, Page 28...

Let's just jump right in to Thursday, shall we?

Woke up at 8:10 , showered, dressed.  Went to Rutters for coffee and a donut.  Went to mom's, where I ate it and drank it.  Drove, with mom following in her car, to the Nissan dealership and dropped off the car.  In mom's car, went to Super Shoe, where I bought a new pair of sneakers.  Went to Home Depot, looked at ceiling fans for mom's new place, she didn't buy any.  Went to Ollie's, bought a bunch of books, she bought some stuff herself.  Went to Lowe's, she bought the 5 ceiling fans she needed.  Went to Sam's, bought a few more books.  Went to Olive Garden for a delicious lunch (we each had Italian Duos, she: chicken alfredo & mac and cheese, me: lasagna and sausage stuffed giant ritoni).  While there, got a call from the Nissan dealership, saying it was ready, but we finished eating anyway.  Back to the dealership, I paid for the car ($679.19...was quoted $660, but tax, and all).  Came home, got my purchases out of mom's car.  Put stuff away, got info together, went to Hallmark store and got my cards for June.  I went to Rutters again and got a Coke with lemon, and then came back here at home.

And all that before 2PM.  PHEW.

The remainder of the day was spent watching Babylon 5 episodes, I think I got through 6 or 7 of them.  And then I went to bed, read some and then off to sleep.

Chapter 5, Page 27...

Wednesday, oh Wednesday, what a hectic freakin' day you were!

I had to get bloodwork taken frist thing in the morning, so I had to get up and get ready a bit early.  I also had to skip my Rutters coffee, which was almost the greater sin of the two.  But off I went to the medical center to get it done.  Had no problems with that, although there was a slight delay.  Luckily, the nurse doing it knew what she was doing and it didn't hurt.

Usually, after getting bloodwork, since I have to be fasting from like 7PM the night before, I go to Denny's (which is nearby the medical center) and have breakfast.  Unfortuantely, this time, I had so much shit going on at work, I couldn't spare the time.  So I just headed on out to work.

When I got to work, I had to started getting things ready to a monthly meeting taking place that afternoon. I got a good portion of it done, and then had to do something else, dealing with clients and filling work positions.  Out of the six potential people I had, only three would do it.  So 50% isn't bad, but I wasted time doing the paperwork on the other three.  *SIGH*  So it goes.

And then, in the early afternoon, was the meeting.  Made it through that without problem.  When that meeting ended, our immediate supervisor had a meeting with the three of us in my department.  He wasn't a process we use changed a bit, but, unlike the previous people in charge, the people in charge now know how to manage people.  He told us what he wanted in general, the final goal, but just told us to come up with the procedure.  (the prior administration would have TOLD us what he wanted, without consulting us, which usually was not the best or easiest way, and we could have thought of better ways, but he never would have asked)

After that the three of us spend roughly 15 minutes together, went over some things, and came up with a solution.  Which I presented to our supervisor.  And everything was hunky dory.  I finished up some paperwork from the meeting and then it was time to go home.

Oh GOD, it's been so freakin' hot this week.  Around 90 and thick humidity.  When I got home, I turned on the a/c and kept it on until I went to bed.  And then I turned on the one in the bedroom and slept with it on.  But before all that, I spent the evening watching an entire DVD (4 episodes) of Babylon 5.  And then to bed to read and to sleep.

Chapter 5, Page 26...

Got up for work with no problem.  Work was a bit hectic, but I got the paperwork done in prep for things on Wednesday that I needed to get done.  And then, I left work at 2:00pm.

I had to go to a local Nissan dealership, Hamilton Nissan, and have Sebastian checked out.  And so, that's what I did.  I've never been in there before, it was all new to me.  I pulled the car in, gave my info and keys to a supervisor who entered me into the computer.  And then told me to wait in the lounge.  Which I did.

But the first thing I noticed, when I pulled in, was this guy who worked there, helping the supervisor.   I recognized him, from a hookup site I visit.  I had never contacted him on that site, but I had seen his photo several times: Blonde hair, blue eyes, early 20's, supple DSL, just overall a real cute guy.  But as I said, I never had any contact with him, so I didn't do anything, but admire him from afar.  Also, while waiting in the lounge, another cute guy came in and sat down and waited as well.  It was nice to have the eye candy to watch, while he was there.

Anyway, after 2.5 hours and a $100 diagnostic fee, it turns out the issue is what my local mechanic said.  The part that needs replaced isn't the expensive, but it takes two hours or more to repair it.  Labor will be the biggest cost, do to the need of having to remove the back seat and work through there.

So, yeah, anyway, the estimate is $660.  *SIGH*  I gave my local guy about $120 for his work.  I gave $100 diagnostic fee and $660, which I'm sure doesn't include tax and such.  So, in the end, I'll be putting about $1000 into it.  But I look at it this way: it's a 7 year old car, I've had it 5 years.  In that time, other than regular maintenance, I have not put any money into it.  So I guess $1000 over 5 years isn't TOO bad.

Anyway, after this, I came home, ate some steak and cheese for supper, watched a couple Babylon 5 episodes and then, about 8:00, I decided to go to bed.  And I did, and read some.

And then, a little before 9:00pm, my phone rang.  It was A Local Celebrity, David ParisPeking.  He will need to use Skype for some kind of interaction with someone dealing with his Doctorate stuff (did I mention he's going for his Doctorate?  yeah, he is.  Apparently just so he can make some people call him Doctor ParisPeking.  And, he says, I'm Number Two on that list, behind only his wife.  She and I both scoff at that statement.....but I digress....).  He had never used Skype before, and so he wanted to use it to contact me to make sure he knew how to do it.  How funny it was, to me, that the guy who set up MY Blu-Ray, ordered and set up MY iPhone, helped set up some parts of MY computer, was coming to ME for IT advice.  Oh, how the tables turned.  But we got it working.

After we signed off, I read a bit more, and then went to sleep.

Chapter 5, Page 25....

Monday morning, I woke up about 7:45am.  And as I prepared for my shower, I remembered there was still a load of colors in the dryer and a load of whites in the washer.  Since 6PM the night before.  *SIGH*  I showered, dressed and got the colors out of the dryer and put the whites in the dryer.  I took the colors upstairs and put the colors away.  Then I got the paper from the front porch and went to Rutters for coffee and a doughnut.  And then off to moms.

I are the doughnut and drank some of the coffee before my cousin got there.  She arrived with her mother and adorable little Morgan.  We walked to Main Street and awaited the parade.  The parade was like an hour long and filled with....tractors, and emergency vehicles, and old cars, and other exciting vehicles.

After the parade we went back to moms and hung out there a bit before going out to my uncle's house.  There we were having a cookout: mom, me, my uncle, his wife, her parents, my uncle's two daughters and their sons.  And the food was amazing.  We hung out there and talked and stuff until like 3:00 or so.  And by then, it was growing hotter and more humid, and the breeze was dying away, and it was becoming a bit miserable outside.  SO mom and I left.  She dropped me off here at home, and I started watching the 3rd Season of Babylon 5.    I also, about 6PM, remembered the whites in the dryer, so I got them out.

A bit later, I updated my checkbook, paid a few bills and prepared some cards to mail.  And then decided to just go mail them, and then fill the car with gas at Rutters when I got back.  And so that's what I did.

I finished off the episode I was watching and them went to bed.

And here's some pics:

Chapter 5, Page 24....

Sunday morning, I got up about 9AM and dressed.  I walked to Rutters, got breakfast and coffee, came back and ate it while I read the paper.  Then I putzed around online until mom showed up at 10:30.  Then, the day started.

Outside we went with her large contractor garbage bags, and we gathered up all the clippings I had from the hedge's cutting yesterday.  We ended up filling up two bags fully. We rested for a short bit and then set about cleaning the living: moving some things around, moving other things to clean behind them and then moving them back.  We swept and/or vacuumed the floors, cleaned the windows, and dusted everywhere.  I shook out the rugs and then, since I noticed for the first time there was bird shit around the small I have sitting on my front porch, we moved that stuff and threw some water on the porch and cleaned that.

While she rested, I got my shower and dressed.  Then we headed out.  Went to Fuddruckers for lunch.  Then to BJ's (something like Sam's but not as big), then Target, and finally Wal-Mart, getting everything I needed on my list.

Mom dropped me, and my purchases, off at my house. I put them away, and then loaded up the two loads of laundry I had and started washing them.  Then I watched another entire DVD of Babylon 5.  I finished those 4 episodes, made a tv dinner for supper, and then started watching the last DVD of the Second Season.  Also, I washed a load of colors and put them in the dryer, and then put a load of whites in the washer.

I also pretty much lived off Advil, cause I was sore and tired.  It sucks being old.  After finishing the final Babylon 5 season 2 DVD I went to bed, and quickly fell asleep.
