BITS-N-PIECES

A few years ago, every Christmas, a friend of mine got me a pair of underwear.  One year, it was Superman undies, the next, Marvin The Martian, and another year, she got me Scooby Doo undies.  I couldn't really wear them cause they were too small.  Well, when I was rooting around in the underwear drawer, I found them, and tried them on.  And they fit!  And in addition, several years ago, when in Old Navy, I bought a Joe Boxer t-shirt, it was too small at the time, but now, I can wear it as well.  And there was a shirt that had my work's logo on it that work gave me several years back, but it too was too small then.  Just last week, I wore it to work for the first time.

It's pretty nifty losing weight.
***************************
Torchwood: Miracle Day.  Thanks to FDot, I'm getting to watch it now.  I'm only on the third episode, but so far, it's not too bad.  Too much gunfire and too many car chases, but then that's the influence of American tv ways of doing things.  The story, it's taking it's time getting whereever the hell it's going, but I'm okay with the pace.  And of course, there's eye candy: Danny on the plane, the bartender in the Golden Gopher, Noah, the cute black gay guy working in the CIA with Esther. And of course there's the shirtless Mekhi Phifer scenes. I DO like how Torchwood always has the best eye candy.
***************************
Glee's been better so far this season than all of last season.  Granted, there's only been a few episodes so far, so there's still plenty of time for them to fuck it all up.  But so far I've liked the characterizations, and how the songs have blended in seamlessly with the storylines.  Thank God it's no more of "Hey, here's you theme for the week" "Oh, Mr. Shue, I've got a song about it I want to sing."  Blech.
***************************
Totally forgot today was Columbus Day, until i took the coins I had wrapped up, $41 worth of them, to the Credit Union this morning, and found the place closed for the holiday.  At least I remembered before I went to check the mail, which, incidently, in past years, I have done.  And then, it was only once I got online that I saw it was Thanksgiving in Canada today.  So, um, yeah, Happy Columbus Day or Happy Thanksgiving, whichever's appropriate.
***************************
Thinking about maybe getting some Halloween decorations for outside the house.  But, as I live on a busy street, with an alley running literally right up against my house, I'm not sure that anything I put out wouldn't get stolen or broken.  I have had planters with flowers in them on the porch all summer, and there's been no issue with them.  But I'm afraid a jack o'lantern might just end up smashed in the alley, or against the house itself.  I'll have to think about it a bit.  Also thinking about putting a few Christmas decorations out this year, other than just wreaths on the door.  But we'll see.

And of course, I need to have the always obligatory Bits-N-Pieces Eye Candy:

Who wears short-shorts? We wear short-shorts....

How much of a SHAME is it that we only got to see this once, and for such a short time, on last week's Glee?

I mean, come ON people, if you're gonna put a hot, musclely, abtastic blonde guy in a short short, WHY don't you actually USE him in the episode? Or at least give him one song to sing in that costume? So that I we all may enjoy it?

Also, I can't help but wonder what Sue Sylvester's comment would be to THIS photo of Mr. Shue.

All good things...

So, no 12 for the 12th this month? Why you ask. I'll tell ya.

After work, i went to Kris' to pick him up. He was uncharacteristically subdued. He has had two roommates, and recently they were talking about how much of a moneysuck the apartment is. Well, last night, his roommate showed up with his brother, packed his stuff up and said he's moving back to his mom's.

Not only does that leave Kris with one roommate short, but it was Tony, his close friend of 8 years. And without Tony, his other roommate and Kris pretty much decided they were going to vacate the apartment as well and Kris would find someone to talk over the lease. So not only did Kris "lose" his close friend, but he's gonna "lose" the apartment as well.

And then comes the inevitable question: Where is Kris gonna live? Well, he plans on moving back in with his parents as well. In Winchester Virginia. About an hour from my house.

Yeah, so you can see why perhaps the 12 for the 12th hasn't really been a high priority for me this month.

What does this mean for us? I honestly don't know. When we got here, we talked, and hugged and talked, and cuddled, and talked. And I may or may not haave teared up a bit. But after a bit of this, and me realizing that is was in fact NOT all about me, and realizing I needed to be there for him instead of him trying to comfort me (which was typically Kris), we both decided to try a bit of the betimesexxyfun. And it was good. Great in fact. And while that didn't solve the problems, it at least made us forget it for a while.

After the bedtimesexxyfun, we went to eat at Montezuma's, and then my Glee-Date Laura came by and we all watched this week's episode of Glee. And now, I'm typing this. (So with all that I described, if you can just picture each scene in your mind, then that's probably gonna give you 12 mental images. Use those for the 12 of the 12th.)

At any rate, yeah, I don't know.....don't know what's gonna happen. Or what the outcome's gonna be. What I DO know, and I know this absolutely and for sure, is that I love Kris. I've felt a connection with him from the very beginning. And that's not gonna change anytime soon, if indeed it ever does.

But dammit, I really really thought we'd have more time.

Now excuse while I go kiss my man, while I still can.

Updates:

#1. At the protests, only 8 "Church" members showed up, unfortunately, two of them were children. And there were about 175 counter-protestors. Everything was peaceful, no arrests. The whole thing lasted about a half hour.

#2. The sent grandma home tonight from the hospital. Unfortunately, since her operation was on her colon, she had some issues, messing herself as they were getting her up the stairs. So after they cleaned her up, mom went to get some Depends and some pain med prescriptions filled, and then she's going to get some of her jammies and spend the night at grandma's just to make sure everything's okay.

#3. On the Kris front, things are going well. I just had to readjust a few things in my head dealing with expectations and such and everything is fine. We had a miscommunication, I thought we were getting together tonight, apparently, we're getting together tomorrow night. Oh well, just one more night sleeping alone.

#4. Glee this week...meh. The music still seemed forced (I hate the "Okay, kids this week's theme is _______. Now, who's got a song about it?" and the "Mr. Shue, I have something I need to say, but I'm going to sing it, and just coincidentally, it matches your theme for the week), but it was still an emotional episode. Well done in that respect. I just want it to be more like a musical, wherein something's happening and someone breaks out into a song that relates to what's happening. But in the end, I'm still watching, so it clearly hasn't upset me THAT much.

Make me happy and Gleeful...

I think a little bit of the magic is back. This episode was much better than the earlier ones since the series return. The songs were much better integrated into the storyline. There was humor (Brittany's comments), sadness (the poor paralyzed kid), poignantcy (Kurt and his dad's interactions) , and more focus on Puck and Kurt. Still no Puck shirtless, but I'm okay with that this episode. And Kurt finally gets to kiss someone...even if it IS Brittany. Plus, we finally find out where Quinn is living.

I'm glad to see Glee's come back to what I remember it being before.

And this week's quotes:

There are SO many lyrics. - Brittany
Because there is never and excuse for stirrup pants! - Kurt
He's an idiot and his mother won't let me eat bacon. - Quinn
"Use protection." "Does he mean like a burglar alarm? - Brittany
Nobody quits the Cheerios, you either die or I kick you off. - Sue

Unless it's horizontally....

Because you can NEVER have too much of a good thing (or hot muscular boys in wrestling singlets) I give you...."Physical" from Glee. Enjoy.

I swear, I've got some gay soft core porn that's not as erotic as this video. Enjoy it while you can, I'm sure it'll get pulled by YouTube before too much longer. Oh and can you beLIEVE, Ms. Newton-John is 61? Sixty-freakin'-one years old!

Make me happy and gleeful...

Tonight's Glee episode ROCKED!

It was head and shoulders above the other three shown so far. The songs segued nicely into the show, none seemed forced. The songs, cheesy 80's/90's stuff, were actually well done. There were lots of laughs. Brittany continues to be my favorite character just for the lines she says. There was FINALLY another Puck in a wifebeater shot. And a guest appearance by Olivia Newton John, who's looking pretty damn good for someone who had #1 hits 30 years ago.

And the Physical video....oh. My. GOD! It was like soft core gay porn. So naturally I loved it! I've tried, without success, to find it online. Maybe it's just too soon, but I'm seriously hoping they post it on Youtube or SOMEWHERE. I need to watch it again. :)

Oh sure, there was over-the-top melodrama, but c'mon, it's GLEE! Other than singing songs, what is it about but over-the-top melodrama? And slow motion laughing...(bwahahaha)...

Next week's episode looks pretty good too. I hope they got over the early slump and are cruising to a bunch of outstanding episodes up to the season finale!

Favorite likes:

Will, I'm going to buy a diaper for your chin because it looks like a baby's ass. -Sue
I'm here because...(something about a cold and antiboitics and whatever)...and I can't remember how to leave. - Brittany
Castle, I will kick you sqaure in the taco! - Sue
"I'm kinda geting cold feet here." "Can you even feel your feet?' - Brittany
I don't how to turn on a computer. - Brittany

Make Me Happy And Gleeful...

This week's episode was better than last week's, but still not up to the standards I've come to expect from it. It did however, have a LOT of upsides:

Kristin Chenoweth was awesome, but kinda wasted, I thought.
No Rachel or Finn singing, and two for Mercedes and one for Kurt. Well done.
Tracy Pendergrass and the long haired bassist at the rolley rink were both pretty hot.
Touching scene with Kurt's dad and Finn.
Touching sentiment in the "Beautiful" song.
And the songs seemed less forced than before.

And my favorite quotes:

How do you two not have a show on Bravo? - Sue Sylvester
I'm pretty sure my cat's reading my diary. - Brittany
You both have dead spouses, perhaps you should talk. - Kurt

Keep up the good work.

Make me happy and gleeful...

Okay, the Madonna episode of "Glee"? Better than last week's for sure. But still, some of it was forced. The "Like A Virgin" part was outstanding, that's exactly what I expect from Glee. And even "4 Minutes" was well done.

But I hate the "hey here's a topic, now let's sing about it" shtick. Like saying "Find a Hello song" or "Find a Madonna song" and let's sing about it. Please. Make the songs fit the situations, don't decide on a song and then make a situation to fit around it. Still, not as good as the first 13 episodes, but better than last week. And that's good.

And may I say that when they show Puckzilla, he should only be shirtless or in a wifebeater. And who's freakin' idea was it to put Savannah in a wifebeater and not Puck for the final number? Somebody needs to ask Curt, or me, costume advice for the show. Seriously.

Favorite lines:
Would you please stop talking, you're grossing out my baby. - Quinn
When I pulled my hamstring I went to a misogynist. - Brittany
Mr. Shoe, is he your son? - Brittany

And it's now official, Brittany and her outrageous non-sequitors, is my favorite character on the show.

I like funny things that make me happy and gleeful...

Last night Glee returned. It was fun, but I was less than impressed. It seemed they were...forcing too much. Trying to hard. And I'm so over the whole Rachel/Finn thing. Come on, I KNOW they're the leads, but can we find out some more things about Arnie and Mercedes? Can we find out ANYTHING about the Asian chick? Can we at least give the cute Asian guy and black guy NAMES???? And can we see more of Puck...prefereably sans shirt.

I enjoyed it nonetheless, and will still keep watching, but I didn't like it as much as the other ones I have already seen.

And Sue Sylvester's Vogue video....yeah, it was funny-ish. But really, its just a near total recreation of the video. I was expecting more Glee references stuff than just two lines. But I'm psyched about the Madonna episode next week! I'm hoping the show will redeem itself with the entirety of the Madonna catalogue at their fingertips!

And last night, I got to enjoy Glee with the lovely Stratcat45. We dined on burgers at Waynesboro, came back here and enjoyed the cheese, pretzels and wheat thins she brought and the Asti and 'spicy meat chunks' I provided. Yeah, we are FULL of class. And apparently we might just be making this a weekly thing, which would be awesome.

It DID suck, though, having to suffer through a half hour of American Idol that delayed Glee. Actually, she and I found a show on Discovery about sperm. Seriously. It was 'the life of a sperm blown up to human size'. They had real people dressed all in white going through the trials of a sperm proportionately sized to a human being. And yes, it was as freaky as it sounds.

But then, Glee started and all was right with the world.

And since I don't want to be the last person in the world to have one of these, here!
