So after work today, I met mom and we did some Christmas shopping.  Other than three things, I'm totally done now.  After visiting four different stores, we went to Olive Garden to eat.  It was there mom revealed that apparently when she was putting her contact in this morning, she dropped one on the sink.  And then she believed she put it in backwards.  So she was having trouble reading the menu.  While she attempted to read it, I took a few photos of her.  Unbeknownst to her.  Well unbeknowst until the flash went off, cause then she knew.  But we were cracking up, me at the faces she was making, she at me laughing at her.   And these are the faces:

Then she started to root through and empty out her purse, looking for first a small magnifiying glass and then a small flashlight, neither of which she ended up having.

And then finally she figured out if she moved it over there against the wall, the light hit it the right way and she could finally read it.

What really bothered me about all this was she drove a half hour to where we were meeting from home, and then was driving us around between the stores...all with the one contact in backwards.

Ah, well, it's ALWAYS an adventure with Mama Polt.

Yesterday, I got a card from Mel, which actually made me literally laugh out loud.  On the front, it read: "Let me tell you, as you turn another year older you could still do porn."  Opening it, it reads, "Scary fetish porn on VHS sold in a clearance bin, but porn nonetheless."

Isn't that GREAT????  I'm laughing even now as I re-read it!

Then today, I got a package in the mail.  Since I saw it came from Michelle M., I knew it would be awesome.  In the box was a purple tiara and a purple boa, which, surprisingly, I did not already own.  Yeah, I KNOW!  But inside was this perfectly wrapped box:

Black and silver Superman S wrapping paper!  With blue and red ribbons attached!  PERFECT!  I almost didn't want to tear open the wrapping.  But I did.  And inside was this:

Two Superman mugs, cause one just isn't enough!  I will hate to actually use them, to even take them out of the box and destroy the perfection of the whole thing.  But of course, I will.

So thank you Michelle M. (and Harry) for the great birthday present!  You guys rock!

A week, a week is all it takes....

Saturday after work, I did some laundry and putzed around here.

Sunday, at 8 in the morning, A Local Celebrity, Mr. David ParisPeking and I left to do some shopping.  We went to Gettysburg, two malls in York and all the way to Lancaster PA.  And of course back, not arriving home until 6 pm.  Yes, 10 hours of shopping.  And ship we did.  He had so much stuff they almost didnt fit into the cab of his truck for the ride home.  And me, I spent over $250 on stuff.  Stuff for me, yeah, but a lot of stuff for other people too.  I'm almost done shopping as a result.  And it's not even December yet!

Then Sunday night, after watching some football and taking a short, but necessary nap, I picked up Kris and work and brought him back here.  We talked, surfed around online, and then went for some bedtimesexxyfun.  Only later did sleep come.

Monday, after showering and putzing around here, we ran some errands to the Post Office, the Credit Union, Wal-Mart and then to a pizza joint for lunch.  Returning back home, we hung out here, talked and had some more bedtimesexxyfun before Ghostie arrived.  Then we spent over an hour filming this year's Palace Christmas video. What fun that was!  And I treated them to dinner at Montezuma's before taking Kris back to his place.

This morning, I woke up with a migraine, and the least said about that the better.  The only good part is I wasn't puking with this one like I sometimes do.  So when I finally woke up and rolled out of bed in the later afternoon, the migraine was gone, replaced with just a dull headache.  That I can deal with, with the help of some Advil.

Tomorrow after work, Mom and I going to do a little more shopping, and dinner, in Hagestown.  Then Thursday after work, Kris and I are getting dinner, I'm taking him to my stylist for a haircut and then we're gonna see a movie.  And then some night this weekend, Mom's coming down to help me decorate for Christmas again this year.

All in all, a busy week!

Rubbing sticks and stone together, make a fire ignite....

It was a hectic week this week.  No, not hectic, not really.  Just....quite a week.  Daunting, yeah, that's perhaps a better term.  At any rate. when I got off work I was quite relieved.  And a bit excited because I've got fun stuff planned all weekend.

The first of which occured right after I got off work.  Kris' new apartment is between my work and his work.  I got off at 4, he starts work at 5, and I offered to give him a ride there (saves on his roommate having to drive him there, or calling a cab).

When I got there, one of his roommates and another friend were sitting in the living room playing on the computer.  They had gotten some new furniture and I asked if there were any changes to his room, and started down the hallway to it.  He said no, and followed.  And when I got there, there indeed was nothing new.  But we kissed and he started telling me about the stuff he's going to get soon and what the room will look like.

An idea came into my head.  I checked the time and said to Kris, "Ya know, it's only 4:16, we got plenty of time to play, if you wanna."  He pretended to think about it a second, then went and shut the door.  And in the next 20 minutes, we had such fun.  It was frantic, and rushed, and felt a bit naughty, cause we stood up the whole time, and never fully undressed.  I quite enjoyed it.  And Kris and I smiled and giggled the whole way to his workplace.

When we got there, he had me pull up right out front.  And before he got out, he leaned over and kissed me, which I didn't think he'd want to do, considering this was his workplace.  But, well, there ya go.

Best of all, tomorrow night, I'm picking him up after work and he's spending the night again.

So, how was my birthday?  Well thanks for asking.

I went to work.  Blah.  It wasn't a bad day, per se, and it wasn't a busy one, but it was one of those emotionally draining ones.  Work is sometimes like that.  Blah.

After work, I drove to mom's where, according to her, Angel wanted to sing Happy Birthday to me.  Although she was more interested in chasing one of her toys that I'd throw than in doing any singing.  Mom and I then went to the Chambersburg Mall where I looked for a jacket, but didn't find one, and for shoes, which I did find in the second shoe store I looked in.  And then for my birthday dinner, we ate at Bonanza and gorged ourselves on it's buffet, and steak, shrimp, and salmon.  And then, feeling tired and full, we both returned to our respective homes.

I putzed around online for a bit and then started watch the first Lord Of The Rings movie.  And before too much longer, I will retire to bed, since i have to get up for work tomorrow as well.

Ah, yes, do I know how to celebrate birthdays or what?

Spend your days here And never give up...

How was my Thanksgiving?  Swell, thanks for asking.

I slept in a bit, putzed around on the computer, read some.  Got showered, walked to mom's house, read the paper and played with the dog.  Mom and I went to get grandma and we went to the annual Thanksgiving Family Reunion we have at a local community center.  There ended up being 53 people there.  I ate two platefuls, and no desert.  My 13 year old cousin Corey followed me around like a shadow, but it was okay, cause he's fun and pretty cool.  Spent most of the time talking to Corey's immediate family.  Packed up the car, drove grandma home.  Came home, took a huge dump, watched Dallas beat Miami while filling out my Christmas cards, which took almost exactly four hours, by the way.  Had a leftover turkey sandwich, and ate two peices of the Mame Polt Homemade Birthday Cherry Pie.  And now, I'm watching the last football game, while decided when I want to go to bed, since I've got work tomorrow.

And of course I have photos.

This is my first plate of food.  The second was pretty much identical.

This is the cherry pie, BEFORE I cut into it.  I'm gonna have to ask mom about the missing slice.

And these are my completed Christmas cards.  All 69 of them. (the number was unintentional, I assure you)

Most of the cards are going to Pennsylvania and Maryland, cause, ya know, that's where I live.  But cards are also on their way to New York, New Jersey, California, West Virginia, Canada, Florida, Michigan, Washington DC, Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Washington state, Georgia and even Enland!  Yes, actually I AM a card sending fool.

I hope your Thanksgiving went well.  And I hope all of us survive Black Friday.

She usually says coffee CAW-fee, I'm not sure why she didn't say it that way when I asked her.  But a more pressing question is, why does she sound like a 50 year old Jewish woman from New York?
