Thirty years ago, I had once of my most memorable encounters with mom.  It wasn't funny at the time, but as I think about it now, I DO laugh.  Anyway, I have already posted about it, but did so ten years ago.  So, instead of re-writing everything, I'll just put the links to the two posts below.  but really, seriously, you should read this!

Also, here's an addendum to both those posts, but make SURE you read both of them before reading this.

So Monday I went back to high school.  In 5th period, which is like 11:00AM, or so, I was in typing class.  In the middle of doing some typing exercise, the teacher, Mrs. Morris, called me up to her desk.  She said, rather quickly, "Polt, what's this I hear about you being drunk over the weekend?"

Up until this point, I had been rather a goody-goody, and had a reputation as such.  When she asked me this, I simply said, "Me?  Mrs. Morris, does that sound like something I'd do?"  She got a satisfied look on her face and said, "I thought so.  I'll tell them it's not true"  And she went back to what she was doing and I returned to my desk and the typing.

Yeah, it's funny she didn't believe it, but what really shocked me is that less than 48 hours after I was drunk, with only half a day of school having passed, SOMEHOW the teacher had heard about my drinking exploits!  Who knew the grapevine was THAT thorough?

Chapter 10, Page 30...

Friday I made it to work and got to work with little problems.    I got the work done that needed to be done, but put some of it aside to do later, another day.  At 2:00, as planned, I left and came home.

I got home and got on the computer for only a short time before I had to leave.  I walked across the street to the dentist's office for my appointment.  The abscess in my tooth has been gone for several weeks, there's been no drainage or pain or anything.  But, I still had the hole in the top of the crown on my tooth that was used for drainage.  So my appointment was to get that hole filled.

I wasn't there for a very long time.  He numbed my jaw, then set to work on it.  After it was over, he said he didn't expect to be like a volcano.  As he was working on it,  he said, blood just kept coming up out of it.  But it's okay, cause he got it cleaned out and as it was NOT pus, it was okay.  When they got done with it, I went to the desk and asked how much I owed them.  She had to go ask the dentist, and when she came back, she said "nothing."  Which surprised me, because since this whole abscess started back in the middle of August, he has never charged me anything.  I did have to pay for the prescriptions for antibiotics and pain killers, but that wasn't anything paid TO him.  And granted he's not spent a LOT of time dealing with this: just looking at it a few times, drilling the hole and doing the initial draining of the abscess, and then filling it now.  But still, it was a very pleasant surprise to not be charged anything.

Afterwards, I came back home and hung out here watching some Netflix and putzing on the computer.  After a bit, I thought it was time to get some supper, and I looked at the clock and it was like ten minutes to five!  That's it!  Since I had left work two hours early, I was kinda off by two hours all day: thought 445 was 645, was tired and ready for bed at 800 instead of 1000, etc.

I did actually go up to bed about 830, but I laid there and read until like 1000ish or so, before turning out the light and trying to go to sleep.  Had a little bit of trouble getting to sleep, but evenutally did so.

Chapter 10, Page 28...

Wednesday, at work, we had a meeting at noon and I had to get a bunch of info together beforehand, which I spent the morning doing.  Then, in the afternoon, I did the followup paperwork to the meeting.  Not a big deal, just somewhat time consuming.  But it all got completed.

After work, I drove out to moms.  She had called me over the weekend to say she had $20 dollars left she had to spend in the dining hall (she gets an allotment each month to use there), and she wanted me to come out and we'd go there and eat.  And that's what we did Wednesday.

We both had the lasagna and broccoli.  And man, it was good.  Just like most of the food is out there.  After this, I dropped her off, and then came home.  I was on the computer, and watching some things  on TV but was tired for some reason, and went upstairs a little bit before 9:00.  I read some up there and then turned out the light and went to sleep.

Chapter 10, Page 29...

I didn't sleep well though.  Woke up a few times, had some trouble getting back to sleep.  But I still managed to get up and get to work more or less on time.  There were a few things I needed to get done and I succeeded in getting them done.  All in all, not an overly eventful day, but a somewhat productive one.

After work, i came home, got on the computer then laid on the couch to read a bit.  And I was so tired I drifted off into a nap.  I woke up 45 minutes feeling much better.  And soon after that, I headed out to my dinnerdate.

My friend Michelle was meeting me at Runways.  We were there for about an hour and a half.  WE had great food, she had great drinks, and we had wonderful conversation!  We just spent time catching up, since we really hadn't talked since sometime in August.

One of the best things, though, was that I told her I found a hotel room in Toronto for $504 dollars.  She asked if that was per night, I said nope.  She asked if that was what we'd each have to pay.  I told her nope.  That was the entire amount!  So we decided right then and there, if we can get a room in Toronto for 5 days and 4 nights for about $252 each, we're gonna take it!  I'll be making the reservations sometime over the weekend, and then, in April, I'll be going north of the border again!  For the first time in 7 freakin years!!!!

We had so much fun the last time we went (Back in the Spring of 2009), we're both looking forward to going back!

Anyway, after the meal, I came home, watched a bit of the football game while putzing around online.  And then about 10:00 I went upstairs, read some and then turned out the light and went to sleep.

Tuesday, I got up and to work without too much of a problem.  There was a lot of work that needed done, and I got a portion of it completed.  It was an okay day at work.

After work, I came home, got the mail, got the computer up and running and then headed out to Wal-Mart.  Had to buy a few things.  When I came home, I had supper, got my cards for November prepared and ready to mail, and then settled in in front of the computer to watch some TV, including the newest Agents Of SHIELD.  Pretty good show so far.

After this, I went up to bed, read a short bit and then went to sleep.  Nothing exciting all day, but not a bad day , all in all.

Chapter 10, Page 26...

Monday, I got up a bit late, just cause I didn't really feel like getting up.  When I finally did, I showered, dressed, read the paper, made a few appointments over the phone, and then left. I went to the Credit Union, the Wal-Mart, and to the Hallmark store.

I came home and hung out here, on the computer, watching some TV, and reading.  As I laid on the couch, though I got sleepy and ended up taking a nap, like and hour and a half nap.  When I woke up, I felt like I had done nothing all day (cause I really hadn't), so I threw some bedsheets in the laundry and then went for a walk.  I walked over two miles, stopping by Waynesburger to get supper.  I brought it home and ate it.  And then settled in to watch some TV.

I watched the pre-game football show a bit, but then switched over to watch the Supergirl premiere.  When that was over, I turned off the tv, went to bed, put the clean sheets on, read some and then turned out the light.  I wasn't a bit sleepy though.  So I putzed around on my phone for a bit, then put that down and eventually went to sleep.

Someone book me a room (Part 299)...

Chapter 10, Page 25...

Sunday I spent a chunk of time in bed wasting time even after I woke up, but I still managed to get up and moving about 10:00 cause I was supposed to be at mom's at 10:30.  I showered, dressed and made it there on time.  We weren't there very long before we up and left again.

We went to the Wal-Mart in Chambersburg.  Mom needed a few things, and I managed to find about 4 things to purchase.  After this, as we were going back to the car, I asked, "Where are we going to eat?"  Right away she said, "Rosalita's!"  It was on the other side of town, and it was pasta, but, eh, whatever, I said sure.  And off we went.

I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs.  With that you got a salad, which was kinda big and the over fresh bread.  Well the brought the pasta, and holy cramolies, it was like a HUGE MOUND of pasta!  I mean, it was enough for a family of four, or so.  CRAZY!  I could only eat maybe half of it.  I had to take half of it home.  And that NEVER happens.

So anyway, we came home to her place, and I drove home here.  I spent the remainder of the day just watching TV, football was on all day.  Watching Washington win (boo) and watching Dallas lose (double boo).

At 9, I switched to AMC to watch the Walking Dead.  Wow.  Spoilers ahead.

When I happened I kept saying, "no, no, no!"  I didn't want it to happen, not like that.  Glenn has always been one of my favorite characters.  And as I thought about it later, I thought, maybe it didn't happen that way.  Nicholas was on top of him, the walkers were eating intestines, which are located lower in the body then what they were yanking out of 'Glenn', so they could have been Nicholas's.  he's not be covered in fresh Nicholas innards, so that could disguise him from the walkers, as happened in the first season with Glenn and Rick going through the walkers in the street.  And there was a large space under the dumpster he could have crawled under.

So yeah, it's possible.  BUT....if they do this, if they bring Glenn back alive now, especially after say a few weeks where we all assume he's dead, it's just gonna piss me off.  It would mean they did it just for shock value, as a way of saying to the fans, "We gotcha!"  I'm conflicted cause I don't want Glenn to be dead, but I don't want his apparent 'death' to be just sensationalism or something.

Anyway, after that, I turned off the TV, went to bed, read a bit, and then went to sleep.
