Someone book me a room (Part 58)...

Chapter 2, Page 27....

Today, I was at work by myself, but it was okay.  Not extremely busy, although busy enough to...well, to keep me busy.  Handled a few new clients, talked to a few existing ones, that sorta stuff.

After work, I came home, got my tax stuff, and went to Liberty Tax Service to get my taxes done, by Bonnie.  She's done them, like the last 5 years, and I LOVE Bonnie!  She's so good at what she does, and so friendly too.  Mom went out Thursday, mom told me, at 1:00, which was her appointment time and she was there until 2:30!  And I said, "Oh no, how horrible!  There must have been some problem with your taxes!"  And she said, no they got them done relatively quickly.  After that, since Bonnie had no other appointments, and no one just walked to get them done, they just sat and chatted!  That's mom! And Bonnie too!

Anyway, I'll be getting back more than last year, which is always good.  But I couldn't use my new energy efficient dishwasher I put in last year.  Nope, that wasn't allowed.  *SIGH*

After that, I came home and putzed around here doing....the normal stuff (in other words, nothing important).  I didn't go to bed too late, cause I knew I'd have to get up to get to work, and they had like two new clients that arrived very late and would still be waiting for me tomorrow.  So around ten, I think, I turned out the light and went to sleep.

Vixen

DC Comics' Vixen first appeared in Action Comics #521 in July 1981.  Mari McCabe was born in Africa but later moved to America and became a fashion model.  She came into possession of the Tantu Totem and used it's power to become Vixen.  She had a solo career, fighting poachers and criminals not only in America but as far away as Africa and India.  When the Justice League Of America disbanded, and was then reorganized by Aquaman,   She remained with the team until it too later disbanded.

She went back to modeling, doing some super heroing on the side.  She worked with Animal Man, The Suicide Squad, Checkmate and The Justice League Task Force.  Eventually, at another time of reorganization, she rejoined the Justice League of America.

Vixen has the power, through the Tantu Totem, through concentration, to mimic the power of various animals: flight of birds, speed of cheetahs, strength of an elephant, breath underwater like a fish, agility of a monkey, night vision of a cat, etc.

Chapter 2, Page 25....

Wednesday, unlike Tuesday, I was much better at work.  Neither days were 'bad' days, but my mood was much worse on Tuesday, and better Wednesday.  I had plenty of stuff to get done, and on Wednesday, I got it done.  It was actually a pretty decent day.

At work, one of the supervisors mentioned a co-worker's father was going to die soon, and asked me to see if I could get a card for us all to sign. So when I got home, I thought I'd get a card for 'us' and a card for just me to send.  And since it was a beautiful sunny afternoon, with temps around 40 (practically balmy!) I decided to walk.  I wore my sweatshirt, put on my sneakers and headed out.

I don't have the distance, because the app on my phone decided to go all wonky.  But I walked to the store, got the cards, walked to Waynesburger, got supper, and then walked home, and all the walking parts took me 33 minutes (times inside businesses not included).  I then ate supper, read some, putzed around online, and went to bed to read and to sleep.

Chapter 2, Page 26...

Thursday was much more like Wednesday than Tuesday: a better mood.  Got plenty of stuff accomplished at work.  The worst part of the day was that my right thigh and calf started hurting and remained sore pretty much all day and night.  I worked my leg too hard on the walk the day before.  Coming home, I didn't have much to do, so I ate a chicken salad sandwich and then watched a movie , Longhorns on Netflix.  It's an independent film, made a shoestring budget, but it's cute and funny.  And every single male actor in the movie (all five or six of them) at one point or another, have a full frontal nudity shot.  And yeah, it's a gay film.  But I enjoyed it.  And not just for the nudity.

After this, it was more online fun, then to bed and reading. I didn't stay up too late, cause the one co-worker in my department is still off on Family Medical Leave, and the other one is taking Friday off, so that leave me to be the only one there that day.  Early to sleep.

Tyroc

DC Comics' Tyroc first appeared in Superboy #216 in April 1976.  In the 30th Century a group of young people with superpowers joined together to form the Legion Of Super-Heroes and fight crime throughout the universe.  One of these was Troy Stewart.  He was from an island that only appeared every 200 years in this dimension.   He joined the Legion, but only remained with them a short time due to his home returning to the other dimension prematurely.

Tyroc had screams that could warp reality in different ways, like teleporting, blasting things, create force frields and even transmute objects.  He also possessed perhaps the worst costume in the history of super-heroes.

Remember, remember, don't you remember....

So....

Recently, I was wasting time looking through Facebook....ya know, as you do, just checking out the profiles of friends and the profiles of their friends, and so on.  And I came upon a few things.

You remember that girl in 6th grade?  The Cutest Girl In Class?  The one that all the girls wanted to be, and all the boys wanted to Go Steady with (even though we had no conception of what Go Steady entailed)?  The one that, when you all got to the one high school in town, the one high school that merged a few middle schools together, and the girl, with all the other competition, wasn't The Cutest Girl In Class anymore, but still ONE of the cutest girls?  And she was, despite being really cute, a little stuck on herself?  Yeah, her.  That one.

Well, I found her profile.  And now....well she ain't all that cute.  I mean, she look....alright, what with the obvious plastic surgery and all, but she's certainly not cute anymore.  Although, her second husband certainly does have those two really cute sons in college.  Who knew she'd end up not cute, but having cute step sons?

-AND-

You remember, back in the 90's, when you going to the local gay bar every Saturday night, and had a large group of friends you hung out with and drank with and danced with?  And you know that cute guy, with the longish blond hair, who reminded you somewhat of Kurt Cobain?  The one that you hit on and flirted with, and much to your surprise, flirted back?  The one that you dated for a short time, who spent the one New Years Eve at your apartment, but insisted on going to the bar even though you wanted to just stay at your place?  The one who spent several nights at your apartment, nights that contained some amazing and memorable bedtimesexxyfun?  The one that, after dating a few months, you realized wasn't really what you wanted, and who felt the same about you, so you just kinda drifted apart?  Even though you were still friendly with each other, especially at the gay bar?  Who, even after breaking up, you still danced the final slow dance several times and kissed passionately while doing so?  The one that you always kinda regretted not trying harder with?  And then who seemingly just dropped off the face of the earth and you haven't seen nor heard of him in like 15 years?  yeah, that one.

Well I found him too.  And I discovered he's now living in California.  And plays in a band.  And is married!  To a nice looking, and pleasant seeming, Asian WOMAN!

Yeah....that one was kind of a kick in the head.....

Tempest

DC Comics' Tempest first appeared in Showcase #94 in August 1977).  Joshua Clay was born in the slums of Brooklyn, joined a gang in his youth and ended up getting caught up in the justice system and given the choice of jail or the military.  He chose the army, was trained as a combat medic and sent to Vietnam.

At some horrific event there, he accidentally triggers his mutant superpowers and apparently kills a fellow serviceman.  Stress, fear and confusion cause him to go AWOL and fled, eventually returning to the US.  He spent the next ten years living as a fugitive.

The super heroine Celsius tracks him down and offers him membership in the second Doom Patrol.  He remains a member for a year before the team disbands.  Tempest them created a fictional identity of Jonathan Carmichael, MD, and easily passes the NY Medical board exam.  He starts a small but profitable practice.

After several years, Robotman contacts him and Tempest reluctantly returns to superheroics.  He only does it a short time, before retiring again, and becoming the then current Doom Patrol's team physician.    He is later killed by a temporary deranged former ally, in May 1992.

I've been watching a lot of Buzzfeed videos on Youtube, especially the TryGuys videos.  They're uniformly hilarious!  The same four guys try things, like....

1) Taste Test Jerky
2) Try "Fifty Shades" style BSDM
3) Try Out Valentine's Day Lingerie
4) Test The Legal Alcohol Limit
5) Wear European Swimwear
6) Do Drag For The First Time
7) Try Nude Modeling
8) Try on Sexy Lady's Halloween Costumes
9) Shoot Guns For The First Time
10) Recreate Kim Kardashian's Butt Shot

Despite all the titles, all the vids are totally SFW.  And always very funny.  I'd suggest you check them out.

Here's their most recent, and least risque: The Try Guys Taste Test Jerky!

It gives you an idea of what they're like.

But one of my favorite reasons for watching their videos (and the point of this post) is that one of the guys is just drop dead gorgeous.  He's an Asian with a somewhat hairthing, and has the best body of all four of them.

Man, today I was simply NOT feeling work...AT ALL.  I got some of the stuff done I needed to, but honestly, I seriously didn't want to be there.  My neck and shoulders started hurting pretty badly in the afternoon.  I was mopey and down all day.  It wasn't a BAD day or anything I just simply didn't feel like being there.

I stopped by the grocery store after work, got gas, and a few food items.  Had chicken tenders for supper.  Played on the computer a bit and read a bit.  But I was majorly tired.  So a bit after 8:00pm, I gave myself the daily insulin shot and headed up to bed.  I read a bit before turning out the light.  I don't remember exactly when, I know it was before 9:00pm that I was asleep.!

Storm

Marvel Comic's Storm first appeared in Giant Size X-Men #1 in July 1975.  Ororo Munroe was born to a Kenyan mother and an American journalist.  She was born in Harlem.  Later they moved to Egypt, where her parents were killed, leaving Ororo orphaned at six years old.  She learns to live on the streets, becoming a skilled thief in the process.    She ends up wandering into a desert, where she lives with a tribe of people.  Once her powers reveal themselves at puberty, she is worshiped as a goddesses by the tribe.

Until she is recruited by Professor X for his team of new X-men he's gathering to go rescue the old group.  Storm remained with the X-Men for many years, even leading them on several occasions.

Storm has the ability to control and manipulate the weather.  It's not a magical way of doing it, like Thor has. She can't create a snowstorm at the snap of her fingers.  She can manipulate the weather patterns around, though, to do most anything she wants.

Chapter 2, Page 23...

This morning I had my first doctor's appointment with my new doctor.  The results were better although not great...as was my opinion of the doctor himself (more about this can be read in a post below).  On the way to the doctor's, I got a text from Derick about stopping by.  So when the visit was over, I headed over to Derick's for some bedtimesexxyfun!  Yay!

Afterwards, I did some grocery shopping and then came home. I did a load of clothes, had lunch, read a bit and played around on the computer (finding out about Blogger's new douchebag policy....which you can read more about on another post below).  I even took a very short nap.

After I ate supper, I paid all the bills for next month, took them to the Post Office, and then went to Hallmark to get all my cards for next month as well.   And then since I was in the same strip mall, I just went up to Liberty Tax and made my appointment with Bonnie for Friday after work.  I love Bonnie, she's great.  Not only as a tax preparer but as a person too!  And since it was right there too, I did a bit of shopping at the Dollar Store.

I came home, putzed around the computer a bit more and then just went up to bed, to read some and then to bed.

Someone book me a room (Part 53)...

Chapter 2, Page 22...

This morning, I got up, threw on some clothes and shoveled out from the 6 or so inches of snow we got.  Got the sidewalk and front porch done, and got the car cleaned off and the parking space shoveled out.  Then I drove to mom's cause we had planned to have lunch together.  She made haddock, potatoes, corn, and baked apples.  The haddock, for some reason, was missing something, but everything in general was just delicious.

I came home and spent the entire rest of the day watching the entire rest of the 5th season of Downton Abbey...including the season finale and Christmas episode, neither of which has aired yet here.  I enjoyed watching them all, but felt a bit guilty, because it warmed up into the high 30's I think and was sunny, and I probably should have gone out to enjoy a bit of it.  But whatever...

At 9 I watched The Walked Dead, and soon thereafter I went up to bed to read and then to sleep.

POLT

Yeah, I'm going to build levels....

Today was my doctor's appointment.  The first time I was meeting this new doctor, but the third time I attempted to do to issues with the prior appointments.

Not sure how I feel about him, I REALLY liked my previous doctor, but when she left the practice, he took over her people.  I mean, he's fine and all, I guess, but Amanda had a MUCH better bedside manner.  She was much...friendlier.

Anyway, everything was good with my health stuff, except, as usual, for the diabeeeeetus.  On the bright side, however, my A1C level has dropped, from 9.5 to 8.6.  Still VERY high, but better than before.

Also, he told me to up my Insulin from 20 to 25 units.  SIGH.  Ah well, better than having higher A1C's scores.

Oh, and since Blogger IS being such a tool about changing their policies (see the post immediately below), I've already gone to Tumblr and started the NEW Polt's Plenty O'Purple Place.  You can check it out here: http://plentyopurpleplace.tumblr.com/

Just remember, it IS totally NSFW.  And you can check back there whenever you want, as that's the only place I'll be posting purple stuff anymore.

POLT

Well aint that a kick in the head.....

So, got this email from Blogger today, about their Policy Content Update:

Dear Blogger User,

We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content
Policy that may affect your account.

In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually
explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity
presented in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts, or
where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking
action on the content.

The new policy will go into effect on the 23rd of March 2015. After this
policy goes into effect, Google will restrict access to any blog identified
as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted,
but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the
blog will be able to see the content we've made private.

Our records indicate that your account may be affected by this policy
change. Please refrain from creating new content that would violate this
policy. Also, we ask that you make any necessary changes to your existing
blog to comply as soon as possible, so that you won't experience any
interruptions in service.

Hmmm, well isnt that nice?  They're going to censor the content of their blogs.  Well to Conservative, Right Wing, Republican Blogger.

I know the Plenty O'Purple Place is history come March 23rd, no doubt in my mind about that.  Not sure about the Palace though.  I mean, I dont show full frontal nudity, and I don't show women's breasts...I suppose bare asses could be enough to get The Powers That Be dander in an uproar, though, who know?

Guess I'll have to move the whole kit-n-kaboodle to Wordpress, or Tumblr or somewhere.  Not sure how user friendly of that stuff is.  I've been with Blogger for nearly a decade (ten years come June), and I'm comfortable and happy here.  But, Blogger's not comfortable and happy with me, since I'm not just posting about puppies, and kitties, and how Obama's a Marxist/Socialist/Communist/Kenya Born/Muslim anti-Christ and all that.

Oh well, if I decide to move elsewhere, I'll let you guys know on here when I do.  And if you attempt to visit the Palace one day after March 23, and cant get in, just Google Polt's Palace...it WILL be somewhere else out there on the Interwebs.

Anyone have any suggestions about the good and bad of other hosting sites?

DC Comics' Static first appeared in Static #1 in June 1993.  Virgil Hawkins was taking part in a large gang war when he was doused with an experimental chemical.  This chemical gave him the ability to generate, manipulate and control electromagnetism.  He creates the super hero identity of Static to take the gangs that had been threatening him and his family and friends.  And then he goes on to battle super-villains as well.  Eventually, Static joins the Teen Titans for a bit.

Static can do things like magnetize objects, electrify people, levitate metal objects (like a manhole cover that he stood on to fly), restraining people with 'static friction', and hit people with a stun gun type electricity.
