As a student of history, there are a few things that I never understood.
I never understood how Germans in the 1930's could elect and then support a man with the ides of Adolf Hitler. Now, I see the same thing in the rise of Trump. No, Trump is NOT Hitler, but the xenophobic bluster he espouses is surely close to the rhetoric of Mein Kampf. And I still can not believe I am seeing this in my own country.
I also could never understand how all those protesters at the 1968 Democratic Convention could disrupt it and create such chaos, doing nothing more than helping someone that was the polar opposite was they wanted, Nixon. But now, here, on TV, I see those Bernie or Buster delegates in the convention boo-ing as people speak and basically just being total dicks. Is this going to help Bernie get elected? No. It will help no one other than Trump. And they're so short sighted, just narrow minded morons, some of them prefer Trump to Hillary? When Trump is at the exact opposite of the spectrum from ALL the Bernie stands for? It boggles my mind.
I suppose the old saying holds true: those that do not know history are doomed to repeat it. And the Trump Supporters and Bernie bots are apparently more interested in the next American Idol winner, or grabbing their Pokemon Go critters than history.
And if this whole election goes tits-up, I'm sure history will judge them as responsible for the outcome and the next four years of sheer hell.

I'm a walking advertisement, of both dark and light (Part 2)...
Well, say the second political ad of the season tonight. It was the same Pat Toomey ad (He supported police and spoke out against the rioters, ie: he backed us white people and showed them coloreds what was what), and it was on the same show: The Walking Dead. *SIGH*
EDIT: I've seen that same ad twice now tonight.
Mar 27: 1 ad, 1 ad total
Apr 3: 2 ads, 3 ads total

I'm a walking advertisement, of both dark and light (Part 1)...
I'm gonna try something I've never tried before.
Just tonight, I saw my first political ad of the 2016 political season. GROAN. And it was for our current Republican US senator, Pat Toomey. It regaled us how police are supporting him and how he strove to get more money for police and how he "spoke out against the rioters, when other's failed to do so."
In other words, "he was all pro-police and anti-Black people". And that sells in the area I'm in. In Philly, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg...nah, not so much, but here, you bet. Course, the area *I* live in is going for Toomey and Trump regardless, so it's kinda wasted money. But it's his money, so what do I care?
Anyway, here's what I plan on doing: I'm going to attempt to accurately record how often and how many political ads I see this season. Dont know that I'll remember to (or that I'll frankly want to), but I'm gonna try.
So here we go, starting the list:
Mar 27: 1 ad, 1 ad total.
