Anniversary Avengers
Today, we have the next member to join the Avengers: Mantis! Her history is very....convoluted. She's Vietnamese, orphaned, although her father later turned out to be a supervillain. She joined the Avengers, was a member for a lil while, flirted with Thor, Iron Man and even the Vision, but ended up falling in love with the Swordsman. He later was killed, but his body was reanimated by an alien asparagus and the two married. She became pregnant and, as the Celestial Madonna, gave birth to the Celestial Messiah. And then went into space.
See...like I said, convoluted.
She was extremely acrobatic, with superhuman reflexes, healing powers and a telepathic ability to sense emotions. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she's played by Pom Klementieff.

We can be heroes, forever and ever (Part 20)...
Anniversary Avengers
Today by John Byrne, we have the next member to join the Avengers: Beast! Beast was a founding member of the X-Men, and he looked considerably more human. When most of the original members left the team, he went to work in a lab and was exposed to something which mutated him into a blue furry Beast state.
The Beast had heightened strength and agility as well as large feet he could use almost as hands. But he was superhumanly agile and acrobatic. In the X-Men movie universe, he's been played by both Kelsey Grammar (as an older Beast) and Nicholas Hoult (as a generally younger Beast). However this is first Avenger in our list that not yet appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
