Right here in this bedroom no attire is required...

Jere over at his blog posted a video of his new room at his new place (it's the third video at the bottom). Well, I've never been one to not blatantly copy someone else'e awesome idea pass up an opportunity, so I made a video of MY bedroom.

Now if only I had videos of the bed in use...and not just for sleeping. *SIGH*

Maybe I'll do a series, each room in my house. Who knows? It's not like I'm posting anything else of interest here.

Putting the two together, well that's damn near perfection in my book!

Don't you know it's a pity...

We should, above all, pity her...

Spoke in a squeaky whiny voice...

Anyone see any irony in Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindal whining in the media about how the government (re: Obama) hasn't done enough about the oil spill, when, not a full year ago, he was whining about how the government's too big and is essentially the source of all this country's woes?

Or is it just me?

Tonight is something of a mind boggling anniversary for me. Ten years ago, the Friday night before Memorial Day, 2000, I started working at Borders bookstore.

I simply can not believe it's been ten years since I started. And seven years since I quit. It feels like just yesterday.

I had SUCH good times there. This was the first place I ever worked where I was out. Not from the very begining, but a few months afterwards. And from then on, everyone that worked there knew. It was so liberating to work in a place where everyone knew i was gay, and no one cared.

And the people I worked with, oh my God. I have never in my life worked with such an awesome group of people, despite the high turnover. Damn near everyone that worked there during my three years was an incredibly awesome person. I'm still best friends with the ParisPekings, both of whom I met there. And Ghostie I met there as well.

I'm not sure how I handled the schedule: Friday, work my regular job 8-4, work at Borders 5-9 or 10, go to TGIFridays with Borders people and drink and eat until about 1:00am. Saturday, work my regular job 7-3. Sunday, work Borders from 10-6. Monday was only day totally off work from both jobs. And even though I was ten years younger, I still dont see how I did it without collapsing.

But oh the fun we had there. At least in the beginning. The joking around, the playing, even a good portion of the customers were fun. Sure there were assholes (both bosses, coworkers and customers) but by and large I have only good memories from my time working there. Certainly it was the most fun I've ever had in any job I've ever had.

And to think ten years have passed...wow....

We are family...

Last Christmas, my entire family (mom's side, I don't have any family from dad's side) got together. This only happens at Christmas, and actually has only happened reguarly since 2007. At any rate, mom and I planned on getting a photo taken of all of us, and we had an aunt, who fancies herself an amateur professional photographer (well SHE thinks she's professional quality, we all know otherwise), bring her camera to get the photos.

She did, and she just recently emailed them to us. This is the entire family.

My grandmother is sitting in the center. Surrounding her are her kids, their spouses, her grandkids, their spouses and her great-grandkids. We can all ignore the white haired guy on the right in the back row. He was supposed to marry a cousin of mine, but backed out of the wedding. I wasn't upset, cause I didn't like him very much from the very beginning, although I did feel bad for my cousin he was supposed to marry.

And this is my grandmother and her kids.

Mama Polt is sitting on the right. She's the oldest. Then her sister, he brother standing on the right and her brother standing on the the left.

I didn't think we'd be able to get a photo of all of us together, but we pulled it off. And the sheer number of people involved explains why it's so difficult.

Ice cream castles in the summertime...

I know I wrote a haiku about this stuff earlier in the week, but seriously, it is SO good, so delicious, so...indescribably nummy, that I HAD to do a post just about it, itself!

Ben & Jerry's Boston Creme Pie Ice Cream.

My GOD, it's a little slice of heaven here on earth. It is possibly, next to vanilla bean cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, and Cadbury caramel creme eggs, absolutely THE best tasting thing I have ever consumed. And it could concievably be better than both.

I can think of nothing but great, toe-curling sex that even comes close (so yeah, this surpasses bad sex). And I'm not even really a fan of ice cream. Typically, about once or twice a year, I'll get a craving for it. And then I'll buy a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia or Strawberry Cheesecake, eat it over the course of two or three days, and I'm done until the next time. I'm really not one of these people that can eat pint after pint after pint. But I tell ya, I've now had three pints of it in the last ten days alone. It truly is that good.

I can not recommend this to everyone forecfully enough. Especially if you like Boston Cream Pie (which just happens to be my favoritest pie Mama Polt makes). Give it try, and TRY to tell me you don't find it delectable!

What a day, what a day in the life...

What a busy day I've had!

I got up at 8:00, which is very early for me on a day I don't have to go to work. I showered, dressed and went to mom's. She made me breakfast and I read the morning paper.

Then, I drove us to the Post Office so I could mail a package and some letters. We then went to get my new glasses, the *SIGH* bifocals. Below is a 'before' and 'after' photo with each pair of glasses.

Not much of a difference from the outside. But looking through them, well, now, some 9 hours later, my eyes are sore. Not hurting really, just sore. I having a slight problem getting used to the bifocals, but I can read easier with them. I just have to get used to doing it that way.

After this, we went to the Credit Union where I deposited a whole mess of coins I had and wrapped. And then I went to a card store to buy the cards I'll need for June's birthdays and anniversaries (can you believe it's almost June already????).

Then we went to a local notary. My grandmother has some money in bonds and whatever that's been unclaimed. I'm her last remaining heir so I'm eligible to get it, but I needed the papers notarized.

I dropped mom off and then came home. I read some, fooled around online and masturbated. Then I drove to Michelle's house. We did some shopping for some things I need for next year's Puntabulous calendar photoshoot. And we ate at Cafe Del Sol having a delicious lunch. I dropped her off, came back home, read some more and fell alseep for about an hour and a half nap.

I woke up, made supper, fooled around online again and, well, here I am.

I did more today before noon than I probably will the rest of the week. Who knew you could get so much crap done in the morning?

When you make your knees touch your elbows...

Today I took a walk. Between wasting time online, reading a book and watching TV, I found time to walk. It was only about a half hour, and it was only around town and by mom's to let Angel out (mom was away for the day) but still, it was a walk.

The day was overcast, and it had rained earlier and was humid most of the day. But when I went, the temp dropped and the breeze picked up and it was a wonderful time to walk. I should have walked further, but since for the last few months, I've had the activity level of an arthritic sluggish sloth, what I walked was about what I could handle.

AND, on top of it, my right knee ached a bit. Just stepping up onto curbs sent a bit of pain tweaking through my knee. Not debilitating, not something that really hurt, but something that I've noticed for the first time. Just what I need...my knees to go. Especially during the same week that I discovered I needed bifocals.

Since things come in threes, I wonder what the last thing will be to remind me of my age. *SIGH*...
