Today, while ordering some things online, I ordered myself two books.  At full price, no discounts, so they're a bit pricey.  But I ordered them from www.bookshop.org, which I love!  It's a site where every book you order comes from a local bookstore somewhere in the country.  So you're contributing to local bookstores with every order.  I love helping little independent, brick and mortal bookstores.

So today, I ventured to Frederick MD for possibly the first time since COVID hit in March 2020 (I've been something of a recluse).  I went to meet my favorite Canadian Tam Ames who was in DC for several days and we ate at aka Friscos (definitely the first time since COVID hit) and it was still delicious.  I spent some time at Barnes & Noble (again probably not since COVID hit), and of COURSE, I purchased books.   No surprise there I'm sure.

My good friend FDot, for Christmas, got me all four Heartstopper books.  He knew I liked the Netflix series, and got me the books, such a nice guy.  I started reading them Wednesday and wrapped the last one up this morning.  They Young Adult graphic novels, so even though there's four of them, they're illustrated and a pretty quick and easy read.  Loved them anyway.  Loved them so much, I went online after finishing and ordered three more books by the author Alice Oseman.

Before the end of last year, right after Christmas, I received an email from BookOutlet.com who always has discounted books.  And then had books that are already discounted on an after Christmas sale.  So of course I had to buy something.  They arrived today, and I forgot to add them to last year's totals, so since I got them in 2023 I'm including them here instead of in 2022 when I ordered them. 

Anyway, it was two graphic novels of classics:

The Odyssey, by Gareth Hinds

(obviously, neither of these actually wrote those classics, these people are the ones who illustrated and adapted these two graphic novels.)
