Still at it, until death do us part (Part 8)...

DEAD OR ALIVE!

Don't cheat by Googling or Wikipedi-ing (totally a word) this.

Sandra Day O'Conner

Miss O'Conner was born in 1930.  She was the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court.  She was a Justice from 1981 until she retired in 2006.

So tell me, Sandra Day O'Conner, is she....Dead Or Alive?

Have you heard they're providing 150,000 condoms for the Olympic athletes this time around?

In Bejing, it was only 100,000 condoms.  Apparently, that wasn't enough.  By my calculations, that comes out to about 15 condoms per athlete.  With 17 days of festivites, that's less than one sex act per day per athlete.  Does this seem adequate?

I mean I know there's some married athletes.  And some ugly ones. And maybe one or two that are celebate or something.  They probably won't use any of the condoms.  But come ON!  Look at 5 guys on the men's gymnastic team.  I mean LOOK AT THEM!

Even assuming they're not gonna get any nookie on the days they compete, they'll certainly go through their allotment in record time!  Hell, Leyva alone could go through all 15 of his condoms in a few days!

My biggest complaint, though, is that I'm not the guy in charge of handing out the condoms to the athletes and, ya know, making sure they fit properly and all that.

DEAD OR ALIVE!

Don't cheat by going on Google or Wikipedia and looking this up.  Nobody like a cheater.

In between the afternoon and evening broadcasts of the Olympics (when the local station was only showing it's crappy news show), I flipped through the channels to see what else was on, and stumbled upon "West Side Story".  And that led to today's Dead Or Alive!

Rita Moreno

Miss Moreno was born in 1931 in Puerto Rico.  She has won an Oscar, and Emmy, a Tony, and a Grammy.  I knew her first from being on The Electric Company in my youth, but also as recently as being the Catholic nun in Oz.  She's started in the entertainment industry in 1950 and performed into the 21st century, a span of over 50 years.

So tell me, Rita Moreno, is she.....Dead Or Alive?

This featuring the stupendous...MICHELLE M.!

I'm Michelle M.  I live in San Diego with my husband Harry and my two adorable budgies, Cooper and Dewey.  I blog on Mondays for C&R and everyday on Cooper's Corner.  Cooper's Corner

I love to read, sleep, eat and watch TV.  And I love Wonder Woman almost as much as Polt loves Superman.

I met Polt in the Puntabulous comment section and in person at the Puntabulous Pool Party of 2010.  He is just as wonderful in person as he is on the Internet and he gives the best HUGS...

1. How many tattoos do you have and/or want?
Zero and none.
2. What is the highest level math class you've taken?
What comes after calculus?  Whatever that was.  It was a traumatic experience and I've blocked it from my memory.
3. Who shot JR?
I never watched Dallas, but if I remember my People magazine correctly it was Kristin.
4. The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?
The Beatles. (So many great songs - and one with my name!)
5. At what age did you lost your virginity?
It was either the Bronze Age or the Iron Age.  I can't remember...
6. Make an anagram of your name.
(With my middle name) Elect hell-like commie.
7. What is the most expensive thing you've owned?
My green Toyota Tercel was probably the most expensive thing I ever purchased.
8. What is one appliance you would NEVER want to lose?
The washing machine (and dryer).  I've spent most of my life driving my clothes to a laundromat, so having a washer and dryer in the house is a dream come true.
9. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
I was hoping for the pie vs. cake question (cherry pie).  Hmmm...it varies, but at the moment, I'd say Haagen-Daz' dulce de leche.
10. In how many jobs have you worked?
Too many.

There ya go, now everyone knows the awesome Michelle M. in just a little more awesome detail.

If you want to play along, but haven't let me know it yet, send me an email at poltguy@yahoo.com and tell me you want to play. I'll add you to the waiting list.

Call me in three months time, I'll be fine (Part 18)...

THURSDAY THREE

So let's see what made this past week a little more FABulous in the life of Polt.

1) Normal Temperatures

Finally, temperatures around here have gotten back to normal summer temps, instead of hovering at or around 100 degrees.  I've not run the a/c for days on end either.  Temps in the 80's are still a smidge higher than I like, but it's better than it was. (81 was the temp inside, 85 the temp outside)

2) Hanging with Family

On Sunday, mom and I took my two cousins, one 8 years old the other 5 years old, to see Ice Age, and then to the arcade to play $10 worth of tokens, and then got them ice cream.  I only see these boys at Easter and Christmas, and I missed them at Easter this year cause grandma was ill.  So I thought this would be a good fun thing to do with them.  And it was.  Although and 8 year old and a 5 year old together were a bit of a handful.  Good thing I asked mom along. (the picture is of mom watching Tereek and Javion playing air hockey)

3) AbFab

I suppose it's because they're showing a new Olympic episode of Absolutely Fabulous (from which the above photo is taken), but LOGO has been replaying episodes in a "Best Of" marathon.  And I've been watching it all week.  Man, I've forgotten just how hilarious that show was.  Even though I've seen them all before, even though I know what's going to happen in a given episode, I still laugh out loud when it happens again.  Simply genius.

So what made your week more livable?

DEAD OR ALIVE!

Don't cheat and Google this or look it up on Wikipedia, just give me your best guess.

With Sherman Hemsley's passing yesterday, I thought about the rest of the Jefferson's cast.  I originally wanted to do Weezie Jefferson, but I remember her dying.  And the way I generally work this is, if *I* don't know if they're dead or alive, then I use them.  Since I knew Weezie was deceased, I didn't want to use her.  So I moved on to the next family member:

Mike Evans

Mr. Evans was born in 1949.  He was co-creator of the sitcom Good Times, but is best known for playing Lionel Jefferson, son of George and Weezie on The Jeffersons  (although there was another actor who played Lionel for a time, Mr. Evans is the one who originated the role and played the part the most).

So tell me, Mike Evans, is he...Dead Or Alive?
