Someone book me a room (Part 155)...

Chapter 6, Page 4...

Not too much to report for this Thursday, I don't think.  Work, like yesterday, was hectic, but not a terribly bad day.  At the end of the day, I got a message from Derick asking if I wanted to stop by and play.  Duh, of course.  So after work, I went to his house and bedtimesexxyfun ensued.

Afterwards, I stopped by Taco Bell, but when I went inside, there were six people in line and the guy at the register and the guy behind the register, were not seeing eye to eye on some aspect of his order.  So I went back out to my car and went through the drive through.  But I sat behind a car for about five minutes, before it pulled forward.  When I got the to order screen, the guy told me he'd be right with me.  And three minutes later, after not hearing another word from him, I pulled out and left.  Crazy.  Instead I went to Rutters and got some of their soft tacos.

After eating them, I sat down and finished up Season 4 of Babylon 5.  And then went to bed to read and then turned out the light and started drifting off.  And then my phone rang.

It was my friend Long Island Travis (so named because his name is Travis and he lives on Long Island).  Long story short, he's been planning to visit friends in DC over Pride weekend, meet up with us during the Parade, come back with me and then hang out here with me until he returns home on Monday.

But that night, as we were chatting, we found out he thought this was going to take place THIS weekend.  The Pride Parade is NEXT weekend.  *SIGH*  Well, he's already got off work and stuff, so the plan is to still do it this weekend.  He'll take the bus to his friends in DC Friday, after I get off work Saturday, I'll drive to the Metro Station closest to me and pick him up there and then we'll hang out the remainder of the weekend.   It's all good.

ps
Last week I got a message from my cute Asian friend in DC, Louis.  He had passed his final seventh exam dealing with his architect career and needs a break.  So, the week AFTER Pride (three weeks) he's coming up for a weekend visit!  YAY!

I've got oven gloves, if it's her desire....

SO...

Friday morning it was pretty cold, under 40.  After I got all ready to work, I went for my gloves.....and couldn't find them.  I had had them on a shelf here in the dining room.  But I cleaned and reorganized the dining room over the summer, I moved the gloves to a place I'd remember so I could get them when it got cold.

And now that it got cold.......I couldn't find them.

I looked around quickly in a few places I thought they might be, but weren't there.  And as I was running late, I just left without them.  As I drove, blowing on my hands as I went, I just told myself I'd find them that night.

That night....I didn't even think to look for them.

Saturday morning, it was even colder.  When I was brushing my teeth, I looked at the digital clock I have in the bathroom (it shows, among other things, the inside and outside temp).  The outside temperature was....33 degrees! And then I remembered I had forgotten to look my gloves.

So after finishing in the bathroom and dressing, I checked the closet in the spare bedroom, cause I have a winter coat hanging in there, but...nope, no gloves.  I did really think they'd be in the comic room's closet, but I went and checked there, and nope, they were not there.  When I went downstairs, I lifted a coat or two on my coatrack to see if I hung a bag of gloves on one of those hooks and nada.

Well I was running even later by then, and I still had no gloves.  But it was even colder, and I refused to have freezing hand again.  I had a pair of big, thick woolen socks that I wore on my feet around the house, and so I brought them along.  Yes indeed I did.  I wore socks on my hands as I drove to work.  Hey, no cold hands, and that's all that matters.  Dont judge me.

Of course, Saturday night when I got home from work....I totally forgot to even look.

When I was getting ready for bed, as I was brushing my teeth I looked at the temps again, and remembered them I forgot to look for them.  So when I was done and went to my bedroom, I checked both closets in my bedroom, and found nothing.  I couldn't imagine that I would have put them on the attic, but I thought I'd check anyway.  So, at 11:00 at night, I trudged up to the attic and looked around.  And found nothing.

This morning, I checked two storage tubs I have in the living and found nothing.  I couldn't imagine I'd put them in the basement either, but I went down and looked.  And found nothing.  But while down there, I remembered that I put all the gloves in a plastic bag and I hung it on a hook in the pantry.

So when I came up out of the basement, I went to the pantry, opened the door and saw....no bag of gloves.  Nope, not there.  So now I was REALLY mystified!  Where in the hell could I have put them?

I went back to the coat rack and took a few coats off to look, thinking maybe I hung the bag on one of the hooks under the hooks holding the coats.  No luck.  I saw the B&N bag at the base of the coatrack, that a big bag with handles that I had sitting on the table that I wanted to put in the pantry with all the other big bags I have, but it had fallen on the floor and I just hadn't picked it up yet.  Behind the coatrack was the leafs to the dining room table.  Maybe I put them behind the leafs...but no, nothing there.

I checked the shelves next to the coatrack, behind the table, maybe they were there?  Nope.  I checked the chair behind the table, and while it had a bag on it, the bag didn't contain gloves.  And next to the chair on the floor I saw the B&N bad with handles that I had sitting on the table that I wanted to put in the.....wait a minute.....

I went back to the first B&N bag, the one right under the coatrack, and.....yep, there were the gloves.  In the bag at the base of the coatrack...right where they SHOULD have been.    I just thought the bag with the gloves was the OTHER bag instead.  Had I picked up the other bag right away and put it in the pantry, then I wouldn't have been confused by this one.

Ah, well...what's the moral of the story?  Hell if I know....put your bags in the pantry right away?  Pick something up off the floor as soon as it lands there?  Always have a pair of woolen socks handy in case you can't find gloves?  Dont clean up your dining room, cause if you do, you may lose your gloves?

Whatever.  At least I'll have warm hands now.

(I know this is a LOT...sorry about that.  But it's just an apt description of the day I've had)

Two years ago, I lost a filling and when the dentist replaced it he said, "There's only about 10% tooth left here, we should put a crown on that before the remainder becomes unusable."  I told him I'd let him know when I was ready to do that.

Last week, when I was there for my twice a year cleaning, I went ahead and made the appointment for Sept. 29th to do the crown thing.

Yesterday afternoon, the filling came out.  Leaving a HUGE cavern in my jaw!  Or so it felt like.  Wonderful.  Typical.  couldn't it wait another three weeks?  Luckily, though, there was no pain.  This also kinda concerns me, cause I'm thinking, "Why ISN'T there any pain?  Are there no nerves left?"  But basically, I'm just glad it's not hurting.

SO last night, I called the dentist and left a message, asking if they could see me today sometime.  I said I'd even just come over and sit in the office and wait for something.  And I told them to call me back and let me know.

This morning, I got up early, on my day off, in case they called.  About 10:00, when they hadn't still called, I figured they weren't open today. (He works some Saturdays on call for emergencies [apparently all the dentists in town take turns doing this] and when he does, he takes Monday off).

So I called in to work, told them I would be taking tomorrow off, just in case they could fit me in then.  If the dentist got me in and if I felt like it, I'd be in at noon.  No problem.

Then, I left for my 10:30 yearly appointment at the eye doctor.  Everything went okay.  My prescription changed slightly, so I'd need to lenses.  I'd had these particular glasses for two years, so I figured I'd need new.  but I discovered out current vision insurance fucking SUCKS!  In prior years, I only paid $25 total for everything.  The last few years under different insurance, I had to about a little under $100 for glasses.  But now, since I need some now, it's gonna cost me $205!  What the hell!  Granted it is progressive bifocals and sun sensitive lenses, but I had those in the previous lenses that cost less.  But eh, whatever, it is what it is.

Also, she put the drops in to dilate my pupils.  And then I had to wait.  And while waiting, the dentist office called.  I went outside to take it.  She told me the dentist had come in for a few hours, but was leaving at noon.  And then were closed tomorrow.  (It was 11:10).  If I could get there by noon he could look at me.

SO I went back in told, the people behind the counter and just blew outta there like the roadrunner!  I mean, I didn't HAVE to have a dilated pupil check, but I HAD to get the tooth taken care of.  SO, off I go, my eyes slight dilated, driving home, when I probably shouldn't have been.  I got home, walked to the dentist office and waited about a half hour.  But I couldn't read any of the magazines, or look at anything on my phone, cause my eyes were so dilated everything was SO blurry, I could focus to read.

Eventually the dentist takes me back and takes a look.  I told him about the appointment and asked if he could do something just temporarily.  Which he did: he put this stuff in the hole, that filled it, but not so that it fit perfectly.  I mean, I feel a ridge between the stuff and my tooth.  But the point is, I don't have a canyon anymore in my mouth.  Good times.

So i come home and call the eye place.  I tell them if the doctor can see me I can come out, but if not, that's cool, I'll get the dilation check next year.  The girl behind the counter says she can check with the doctor when she gets done with her current patient.  I tell her not to worry about it, I can wait until next year, and we hang up.

I call mom to tell her about my day so far, and while I'm doing that, the eye place calls.  She says the doctor will check me out if I can come out right now.  And so off I go, with even blurrier vision, driving my way out there, squinting the whole time because of the bright light.  But I got there, and waited just a short while, before she took me back.

I didn't like the bright light shining in my eyes, but it had to be done.  And when she finished, she said it was good thing she had come back out.  She said she saw some very small burst blood vessels in the back of my eyes.  Nothing that would require me to see an ophthalmologist...yet.   Nothing that would require laser surgery or injection...yet.   "Injections?"  I asked.  "Into my eyeball???"  She nodded.  "Am I asleep for that?"  She shook her head no.  "Oh...I can't do that...."  And she said, "Well then get the diabetes under control!"

So, yeah.....I'm even MORE sure now I'll be on insulin by the end of the year, cause these results are gonna be faxed to my doctor.  But its a good thing, I think now.  Cause I really dont want these to get any worse and lose my vision!

I drove to mom's (wearing the sexy, stylin, plastic eye cover thingees she gave me to wear...but at least it made driving easier). and told her all this.  Then I came home, and sat here and basically just thought about it.  About my life.  And about what I need to do.  It scared me, frankly.  Which is exactly what I needed it to do.

I had plans to go see a movie with Stratcat and CC this evening, but honestly, I was trying to wrap my head around all this and didn't really feel like seeing a movie.  And I told them I was backing out and then spend a few hours just thinking about things and trying to get depressed or anything.

And then outta the blue, I got a text from a semi-regular fuck buddy of mine.  It was two pics of his hard penis, and he was asking if he could show that to me in person.  Who am I to say no?  And for the next three hours, my eyes were the furtherest thing from my mind.  He's got a huge white boy booty...something that you don't normally see, in my experience, and so I was preoccupied with that.

When he left, I just sat here for a few minutes, realized it was an amazing day (after a hot and humid week last week) and decided to just get out and take a walk.  Only walked 20 minutes, but that was better than sitting on the couch for 20 minutes.  And then I prepared supper (having a wonderful texting conversation with john eliot), and then ate the salisbury steak I had made. (no carbs in steak).

And now I'm sitting here watching Monday Night Football and typing this.  And it was a crazy day, full of humor, craziness, shock, depression, bedtimesexxyfun, and good, fun times.  Not a bad day, all in all...but I still don't really wanna have too many more like this, ya know?

I had debated posting this, but then I thought, oh what the hell? It's not like you people don't already know my most disturbing secrets already right? And this one's actually more amusing than anything...

So, earlier this year, I met this guy online. We'll call him T. T lives in my town. He's 19. He says he likes older guys, and hey, what do you know, I'm an older guy that like 19 year olds! So twice, once in early February once at the end of February, he came over and...a good time was had by all.

Both times, though, I'm thinking this kid looks familiar to me. I thought maybe I knew him through work, although that didn't really seem likely, or I probably saw him a party I was at last year, but we didn't talk or anything. Or hell, since he grew up in my town, I mighta just seen him around. It really didn't bother me much, but it was one of those nagging things, like not being able to remember someone's name after you met them, or not being able to remember where you put your car keys, something like that. The sex overwhelmed my frustration at figuring out where I knew him from.

So cut to two weekends ago. I'm at Wal-Mart (don't judge me), and I run into this girl I went to school with. We'll call her M. We didn't know each other terribly well in school, but in the late 80's we worked at the same place, and we even dated for about 8 months. I hadn't seen her since, well, probably since our five year reunion back in 1991.

So we catch up, ya know, How are you? What are you doing now? Where are you living? How's your mother/father, brothers, etc? She tells me she's married, been so since before the reunion, and I told her I remembered meeting and shaking hands with her husband. It was a bit awkward to be the ex-boyfriend shaking the husband's hand. Polite ha-ha's follow.

She says she's got three boys and a girl. And she pulls one of those picture things out of her wallet to show me. She points out her kids, and i'm sure I went white.

Her oldest son? It's T!

I KNOW!

I kinda wrapped things up then a bit hurriedly and went on my way after that. No wonder he looked familiar, he looks quite a bit like her! Same face shape, same hair color and texture. Same eye color. Same pale-ish complexion. Oh man it was freaky. And how could I know? I mean, his last name is his father's name, after all! And I hadn't spoken to her, much less remembered her married name in damn near twenty years! But my life, I SWEAR sometimes I'm a living a Jerry Springer episode.

Yes, yes it's true, I fucked both a cute guy AND his mother (albeit 20 years apart).
