This picture was taken yesterday at meeting of the President and the leaders of Congress. And I love everything about it!
We've got House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Shumer, President Joe Biden, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
Obviously, this picture was posed, they knew their picture was being taken. And yet....look at them! Biden looks happy and content; Shuman looks like he's just heard the funniest joke ever; McCarthy looks like his momma just yelled his name, first middle and last, very sternly; Pelosi looks like she's smiling at McCarthy's discomfort; and McConnell...well, he looks like he always does; like he either has to unleash a loud wet fart, or he's smelling a loud wet fart someone else has unleashed.

The meeting was about averting a government default on the debt limit and getting a budget passed in the lame duck session. And in the end all of them agreed the debt limit and the budget would be passed. Clearly the three Dems are totally happy with the results. McConnell's probably still pissed about not getting the Senate back, and McCarthy is clearly racking his brain trying to think of a way to get the whack-a-doodle members of his party to go along with all this.
