I don't like to just believe stuff on the Internet, so let's see when the USA has had recessions since WWII (1945).
1949 - 11 month recession - President Truman (D)
1953 - 10 months - President Eisenhower (R)
1958 - 8 months - President Eisenhower (R)
1960/61 - 10 months - President Eisenhower (R)
1969/70 - 11 months - President Nixon (R)
1973/75 - 16 months - President Nixon(R)/President Ford (R)
1980 - 6 months - Carter (D)
1981/82 - 16 months - President Reagan (R)
1990/91 - 8 months - President Bush I (R)
2001 - 8 months - President Bush II (R)
2007/09 - 18 months - President Bush II (R) into Obama's first term
2020 - 2 months - President nope (R)
So in that span of time there were 12 recessions, 10 started under Republicans, 2 under Democrats.
In that span of time, the following presidents did NOT have a recession start during their terms:
Kennedy (D)
Johnson (D)
Ford (R)
Clinton (D)
Obama (D)
Biden (D)
And so, while the above post is not totally correct (although it does almost and not all recessions), the gist of it certainly is:
In the last 80 years 80% of all recession have started under Republican presidents, due certainly, to their policies. And in that same span of time, 83% of presidents to NOT have a recession start under their terms, were Democrats, due certainly to their policies.
Prepare now for another recession.
POLT
