That top map, people love to pull out to 'show' that the USA is really a Republican country. I mean, just LOOK at all that red!
But, as it says, Land doesn't vote, and a lot of that red, those counties, have tiny populations. It's PEOPLE who vote! And the bottom map shows the vote totals of people, not the empty land.
In fact, the Democrats have gotten more actual votes that the Republicans in 6 out of the last 7 presidential elections, 2004 being the exception. And clearly, after this year, it's going to be 7 out of 8 elections.
