Check this out, real quick, don't know if everybody know (Part 2710)...

 Check This Out!

Earlier this week, on Tuesdays, two things happened, one very sad, one very great, both momentous.

The sad thing is the death of Walter Mondale.

This photo shows Joan, his wife, Mondale himself, Rosalyn Carter and Jimmy Carter on January 21, 1977,their first full day as Vice-President and President.

Walter Mondale.  Senator, Vice President, Presidential nominee, Ambassador to Japan.

He was, in 1984, the first man that I remember supporting for President, on my own, without any influence from my mother.  Even at the tender age of 16, I realized he wasn't a great man but that he'd be a much better president than Reagan would in a second term.  .....ah, what might have been.

Anyway, Monday passed away at the age of 93.  Rest in Peace.

And the wonderful thing is this pic: A murderer being led away in handcuffs after being found guilty.

Obviously, he's not just any man.  He's Derek Chauvin, former cop and murderer of George Floyd.  And the fact that he could have killed a man over the course of 9 minutes, while being filmed doing so the entire time, and still, his conviction not being a foregone conclusion, shows just how warped this country is.

His conviction is a start, but indeed only a start.
