Eighty five years ago today, April 18th, 1938, Action Comics #1 reached the newsstands.
Even though it has a June cover date, comics are covered dated three months in advance, for some reason. Always have been, still are.
Not only did Action Comics #1, and Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, give us this issue, they gave us Superman and in fact the whole superhero comic book industry as we've known it for more than 8 decades.
