 Anniversary Avengers

Today we have another reformed criminal who joined the Avengers: The Swordsman.   Jacques Duquesne was a master swordsman and worked in the same circus as a young Hawkeye.  Later, they became enemies.  Later still, they both reformed and became Avengers.  After that, he began a relationship with the Avenger Mantis.  Then, he was killed.  His body was possessed an alien asparagus-like creature, and he married Mantis, who was the Celestial Madonna, and together they begat the Celestial Messiah. (honestly, all that I wrote actually happened in the comics.  All I can say is the last parts were written in the early 70s, and there was  LOT of good drugs out then, so....)

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is, as yet, no Swordsman.  In the Hawkeye TV miniseries there WAS a character named Jacques Duquesne and played by Tony Dalton.  But he was not yet the Swordsman.
