Anniversary Avengers
Today we have, by the Maestro George Perez, the next Avenger to join: Stingray. Walter Newell was an engineer and oceanography who designed the "Stingray" power suit to aid him in his under water endeavors. He was a frequent ally of Namor the Sub Mariner over the years.
He later took over the Hydro-Base, an artificial island off the Atlantic Coast and used it for his scientific projects. The Avengers and one point leased the base as their headquarters, and after helping them with the Serpent Crown affair, Kang, and Doctor Doom, among others, he is offered and accepts, Avengers membership.
Unfortunately, he didn't remain with the team long, and preferred to be a reserve member spending most of his time on his scientific research.
The Stingray suit grants the wearer heightened strength and durability, and superfast swimming speeds. It has the capability to pull oxygen out of the water, allowing the wearer to breathe easily. The wings allow a gliding ability through the air. And the offense weapon is an electrical discharge blast through the gloves.
Walter Newell/Stingray has not yet been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
