With less than a month to go until the midterm election,  I was debating making this post, but then I thought, eh, let's do it an see how it all comes out, how correct I am.

There are 6 individuals in DC who have not be elected by the people, nor are they responsible TO the people due to life time appointments (and 5 of the 6 were appointed by presidents who more Americans gave votes to their opponents), who are performing a judicial coup in this nation right before our eyes.  They've taken away a women's right to make decisions about her own body.  Coming up are their plans to take away the right of certain Americans to marry the person they love and for ALL Americans to potentially lose access to contraceptives.  All of those derive from the Right To Privacy, which these six individuals clearly have in their crosshairs as well.

There is one way, only ONE way to stop this (probably not out of 14,000, 605, but maybe).

I fear however that this will not happen, because, to be quite frank, the American people are idiots.  They prefer shiny baubles and distraction techniques to actual policy.    A good chunk of them have been voting against their own best interest for years, just so long as it 'owns the libs'.

At any rate, what MUST happen on November 8th is that the American voters must cast their votes so that the Democrats keep the House and they gain 2, or 3 preferably, seats in the Senate.  Again I say that I don't think will happen, American stupidity and all that.  I think the House is gone (in addition to the stupidity is the Republicans' potentially illegal and definitely unConstitutional gerrymanders), and I would not at all be surprised to see us lose the Senate too.  Disappointed and saddened, but not surprised.

But let's say the American people overcome their idiocy and keep a Democratic House and Senate.  Does that mean we're in the clear?  Oh no it does not.  Even with a Democratic House and Senate we still have to rely on....politicians to do the right thing.  Democratic politicians.  NOT the most backbone-prone people out there.

If there is a Democratic House and Senate (with enough members to counteract Sinema and Manchin), what they should do within the first week of being sworn in unpack the court.  There are 9 Justices (well, only three Justices.  And least three of the remaining one are anti-Justices and the other two are questionable.  But I digress...) and there are 13 Federal Judicial Districts.  Each District overseen by a Justice, and several Justices have to oversee more than one.   The obvious answer is to make the Supreme Court have 13 members: one for each Judicial District.

In addition, this would nicely countermand the thefts of two (perhaps three) seats by Mitch McConnell.  But I fear Democratic Congresspeople are too cowardly to take this necessary action.

And with 13 Justices hearing cases, the assault on our basic Civil Rights would surely come to an end.

Another thing the Congress needs to so right after the above is make the majority of DC into a state.  "No taxation without representation", remember?  Clearly, the citizens of DC should either get actual, equal, voting representatives in the House and Senate, OR, they should not have to pay any Federal taxes.  At all.   We already fought a war over this, remember?

But let me reiterate, I do NOT believe these things will happen.  What I beleive is that the Republicans will win the House easily and possibly even get the Senate (I'm still up in the air about the Senate).   And if they get either house, this is what you'll see:

-7 to 8 committees on Hunter Biden alone
-7 to 8 committees on the withdrawl from Afghanistan
-3 Impeachment votes before the end of the year (not Biden, no matter how much some would love that).  I'm convinced they'll go after Homeland Security Secretary Alegandro Mayorkas and Housing and Urban Development Secrtary Marcia Fudge.  The former because of the "open border" and because he's a Latino, and the second because she's an outspoken, intelligent woman of color.  The Republicans would love nothing more but to "impeach" a Latino and a Black woman.  Not they either have done anything warranting impeachment (ya know, like trying to blackmail a foreign leader or attempting to overthrow the government in a violent coup), but that won't matter to them.  All that will matter is "owning the libs" by "impeaching" some Biden people.
-they will attempt to blackmail the Biden Administration into gutting Social Security and Medicare by not raising the debt ceiling until they are cut.  They would rather throw the US economy and the world for that matter, into chaos and depression than allow government programs to benefit Americans who are not white billionaires.   The saying, Willing to burn it to the ground to rule over the ashes, springs to mind.
-Absolutely no legislating will take place.  Because Republicans aren't about governing, the have nothing (ask a Republcian what their plan is for inflation.  They don't have one.)  Creating solution is hard, bitching about the problem continually is easy.  And that's what they do best.  Bitch and bitch and bitch.  Solving the problems they're bitching about....eh, not so much.

The goal of a Republican House and/or Senate will be to spend the next two years doing everything they can to make things bad for this country and then blame Biden for it, in hopes that it will get people to vote against him in 2024.

And with American Stupidity being what it is (see above), that's likely to happen.

They say people get the government they deserve.  If they vote the semi-Fascist Republican party back into power, then they deserves what will happen to them.  The problem is, a lot of people who DON'T deserve it will get affected too.  And that's what THOSE people need to get out in a few weeks and VOTE Blue!  Vote for Democracy and not whatever slime the Republicans are pushing.

But again....I have very little to no hope that that will happen.

God Bless America...for as long as we have left of her.
