So Obama's in Canada. One of the things he did was give a speech in front of the Canadian Parliament. Upon completion, they gave him a standing ovation. He stood up and waved.
Nothing unusual there. Now watch this and listen until the end:
What they are chanting is "Four more years", over and over.
Oh, if only it were so. I'm happy and ready to vote for Hillary. But had I the opportunity, I'd totally proudly cast my vote for this man again.
And this is yet another reason for me to love Canada!

Swallow this scene, I'm on fire....
Last Tuesday morning, I woke up with a sore throat. It got worse Wednesday. It wasn't a 'normal' sore throat. My throat felt thick. The nurse at work looked at it and said my tonsils were inflamed, which i kinda figured. That explained the 'thick' feeling. I also think I had a slight fever. And I was tired all the time.
I went to work on Thursday, but I got done what I needed to, and then, left taking 5 hours leave. Friday I took off as well. Saturday, since I'm the only one from my department, I went in, took care of the new clients and then, after only two hours, came home.
Other than those time, I pretty much spent all my time in the house, int he a/c, on the couch, watching Game Of Thrones, gargling with warm salt water, sucking on cough drops, swallowing Advil every four hours and grimacing every time I painfully swallowed.
Yesterday, it started changing. It felt less...thick, and more...raw. More like a normal sore throat. Today, I went to work, still taking the Advil and sucking on the cough drops. The throat still hurts a bit, but not like over the weekend. And now I have a congested head and a dry cough. This is more like a normal cold. And while that does inDEED suck, it's much better than what I was going through over the past week.
On the plus side, since I've not been doing anything else, I've gotten through 5 seasons of Game Of Thrones. I'm through two episodes in the 6th season. I plan on finishing it up by the weekend.
Good times, good times.

So after more than $7 million dollars, the Benghazi Committee issued it's final report and found not evidence that Hillary Clinton did anything wrong. Ooooh, color me surprised.
This committee took longer than the Warren Commission that investigated the Kennedy Assassination. This committee took longer than the Watergate Commission, that investigated ACTUAL wrongdoing by a president. This committee took longer than the 911 Commission that investigated the attacks resulting in the death of 3000 Americans.
So why was the death of 4 Americans 'worthy' of such long expense of time and money?
Well the Republicans in the House needed this committee to try to derail Hillary's campaign. And it blew up so justly in their partisan faces.

I got no taste, for second place....
So Hillary Veep.
I've heard many suggestions. Here are some of them, and my thoughts on them.
Bernie Sanders.
Absolutely no chance of this. I don't think he'd accept if she were stupid enough to offer.
Elizabeth Warren.
Nope, not gonna happen. She and Hillary don't particularly like each other. She's much more exciting and energetic than Hillary and you don't want your backup to draw more attention than you yourself do. Her replacement in the Senate would be appointed by a Republican governor. She has very little experience, being not even all the way through her first Senate term. And she'd be much better in the Senate fighting the Republicans there.
Julian Castro
HUD secretary, former mayor of San Antonio. I have been saying he's going to be the pick since last summer. He's young (early 40s), Latino and from Texas. I'd still like her to pick him, BUT, I dont think she will. Hillary doesn't need to sore up support with Latinos, Trump's doing that FOR her. Texas might be close this election, but I don't think it'll flip to the Democrats, and I dont think him on the ticket will change that. And he has little experience to take over as President, like Warren.
Sherrod Brown
He's not very exciting and is actually a rather dull speaker. Worse, thought, he's from Ohio, which mans the Republican Governor John Kasich would appoint his successor.
Thomas Perez
Labor Secretary. Another Latino. Would not have a Republican governor appoint his replacement. But he's got no name recognition (I had never heard of him before I read his name on a list), and I honestly don't know what else he would bring to the ticket.
Tim Kaine
He's a senator from VA, meaning a Democrat would appoint his replacement. He's been a goveror, a Senator, head of the Democratic party, all kinda of experience. He speaks fluent Spanish. He's not a terribly exciting speaker, but he's got all the experience to take over, if need be. He's from a swing state as well. I now think he WILL be her choice.
There are other names I've heard: Sen. Amy Klobler (sp?) or Minnesota, Gov. John Hickenlooper of Colorado, even Bill Clinton (even though he's not eligible). But my money, now is on Kaine. I'm not excited about the choice, but I'm not voting for or against Hillary regardless of who her VP choice is.

Changing ages, changes thrones....
Okay, I've just finished Season 3 of Game of Thrones. I'm about halfway through what's aired so far. Here are my impressions (and there will OBVIOUSLY be spoilers):
It really drags at times. Sometimes a few episodes in a row are slow and, honestly, somewhat boring. And then they do a "The Rains Of Castamere".
I really did think the invasion of King's Landing near the end of season 2 was going to be one of the best episdoes ever. And it was. But then along came the aforementioned "The Rains Of Castamere". Oh. My. GOD! I'm pretty sure I literally gasped out loud more than once during that episode. Totally did NOT see that coming at all!
I'm very VERY much interested in the story about the Mother Of Dragons, and all she's doing. But damn, it's like I'm watching an entirely different series when her stories appear. And it's talking so LONG to get to where the story is going to end up.
There's a lot of eye candy in the series, but the leader of the Unsullied, Grey Worm....damn, he is one sexy mofo. See?
Boobs. Boobs, boobs, boobs, and more boobs. Oh, there's a woman's ass, here's several more episodes of boobs. Here's a snatch, there's another ass, and OH LOOK, more boobs! SIGH. It's obvious this thing was written by (and filmed by) straight men.
Yes, I know, there's been three full frontals for me (believe I've been counting, and one was Hodor) and there's been a couple man asses. And plenty of shirtlessness from the guys. But still.....this is HBO....would it kill them tio give us one, just ONE, full frontal erection?
The dragon special effects are pretty nice.
Two major things bother me: that WALL doesn't seem to do such a great job when, so far, a LOT of people have either gone over, through, under, or presumably, around it. It's almost like its made of Swiss cheese. The other thing is the traveling. I don't get the impression Westeros is a small continent, and yet people seem to travel over it....great distances and surprising speed. But maybe I've just been mis-estimating the layout of the land.
I wouldn't want to be the one to piss off the Warlocks.
I have no idea who Sam survived the finale of the second season, but he did. And I didn't really foresee him becoming a character who gets all the screen time he does.
I'm surprised at how many actors I'm seeing that I know from elsehwere. Gilly (Sam's girl) and the bastard who's a smith, both were in Skins; The Queen of Dragon's brother and the tall blonde kid who has seizures were both in Doctor Who (the same episode in fact), and of course Arya was a major character in Doctor Who this past year; the lord in charge of the Twins was the janitor in the Harry Potter series. The guy who's been torturing Theron, I think his name is Ramsey, was in The Misfits. And I'm sure there's other that I've forgotten about.
All in all, a very good, entertaining show.
