Anniversary Avengers
This is the next Avenger to join: Quasar.
Wendall Vaughn was a SHIELD Agent working security at a lab where scientists were experimenting on the "quantum bands" used by a deceased superhero. Enemies of SHIELD from AIM attacked trying to get them. Wendall put them on his wrists and used them to defeats the AIM agents, and he keeps them and becomes the superhero Quasar.
He became security director of Project PEGASUS, and then later, when he realized he was a bit more cosmically powered, he went to outer space and was hero around the galaxy. He even joined the Fantastic Four's Thing in a journey to an alternate universe. Eventually, after teaming up with the Avengers in a mission on outer space, he returned to Earth with them and became a team member for a time.
He has many powers all coming from the bands, ranging from invisibility to energy projection to interstellar, faster than light speed travel, among many others.
Quasar has no appeared yet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it's been rumored he'll be introduced soon. Who knows?
