If I were a hero, I'd be Martin Luther (Part 2983)...

 Superhero Anydays

It used to be, from the mid 70s through the mid 80s or so, Marvel put in the upper left corner of all the comics, a "corner art box"....although I always called the Headshot boxes.   I really liked them.  No so much for the single hero comics, like Iron Man or Spider-Man or Captain America, cause those boxes just showed the titles hero in some pose.  But in group comics, they showed they headshots of the team members or team members who appeared in that issue.  It was unique, iconic, and fun.

Here we have a Headshot Box from..
The Uncanny X-Men: Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Banshee, Cyclops and Nightcrawler.
The Defenders: Hulk, Valkyrie, Hellcat, Nighthawk
The Avengers: Beast, Visions, Iron Man, Wasp, Captain America, Falcon, Ms. Marvel.

And today we also have some absolutely freakin' GENIUS cosplaying!  On the left we have the splash page of Uncanny X-Men #168.  Drawn by the under appreciated Paul Smith, this show Kitty Pryde after being told she'll have to join the New Mutants, spending time with the other teenaged team instead of the 'main team'.  Obviously she wasn't happy about that.

Then on the right we have, I think a guy, who's got that splash page precisely copied, including the word balloon above his head.

Sheer freakin' genius!
