I really tried, but I can't. I understand "The Once And Future King" is a classic about King Arthur. From X2, I discovered it's a favorite of both Magneto and Professor X. But I simply can NOT finish it.
It's flat out boring. I mean, not only does the author tell us they're going on boar hunt, and not only does he describe what happens in a boar hunt, in excruciating detail, but he mentions they're taking the dogs with them. And names...every...single....dog...and what breed they are, and goes on to describe what the different deeds each breed is the best at doing. And then never mentions the dogs again. *SIGH* what a freakin' waste of time.
I've been struggling with this for almost three weeks. I got about 225 pages into this 500 and some page book and could simply go no further.
So that's it. I'm moving on. Onto a Doctor Who book. I'm hoping I'll enjoy this quite a bit more.

Fetch the remote control, we got football tonight (Part 4)...
So how did I do in Week 4?
1. Washington Lost! (and lost BIG!) YAY!
2. Dallas Won! (and won BIG!) Double YAY!
3. I pretty much sucked with the pics with ALCMDPP, I came in 3, he got 5 correct. So overall that means I'm still up by $4. So that's kind of a Boo and a Yay both.
4. My pic in the Winner's Pool, San Diego won! Triple Yay!
So all in all, a pretty good week!

It's the end of the month, which means it's time for my monthly charity donation.
Since I've been diagnosed as being diabetic in 2000, and since I'm pretty sure when I see the doctor in two weeks, she's gonna put me on insulin, I thought for my second ever donation, I'd contribute to the American Diabetes Association.
And I recommend, if there's any Palace readers out there looking for someplace to donate money to, you choose that site as well. I've included the webpage later on here in the post for easy reference for you all. And to anyone who does contribute, thank you.

Crown my desire, fulfill my wish...
So today, in a few hours, I go back to my dentist to get the final crown. It's about time, I say. I hope everything works out okay.
But I saw this, and thought it quite appropriate.
See? Now THIS is why I love my dentist.

When I chirp, Shawty chirp back...
SO this morning, after getting my shower, I came downstairs and, at the bottom of the stairs, on a bookshelf, I saw this:
You see that? That's a cricket. Just sitting there like he owns the place. I got a container, put it over him, used the magazine he was sitting on as a cover and walked him outside. I let him loose off my back porch. And we both went on about our days.
But I wonder how he got in my house. And not just inside a door or window, but in a part of the house not near either. AND I wonder how he got atop the shelf. This is what he was sitting on!
See that lil black mark on top? That's him! That bookcase is a yard high. Man, can crickets jump...apparently.

I don't know if I mentioned on here before or not (although I think I did), but my buddy Corey, for a few weeks this summer, went off and joined the circus. He's been 'playing with fire' for a few years now, but in the circus, he was a fire-eater, fire-breather, whatever.
He's back in the real world now, doing real (boring) work. But he still does the fire stuff on the side, on weekends at festivals and such.
Here's a photo I got from the Interwebs.
This is kinda cool, right? It makes me wanna go see him perform sometime.

You're safe, I'll shield you from the pain...
So, last night, I checked out the Season 2 premiere of Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD. I had started watching the first season last year, had seen a few of the episodes and liked them. But then I forgot the day and time the show was on and missed a few episodes and then just decided, screw it.
But I though I'd five season 2 a chance. And I gotta say, I enjoyed it! I really had no idea what the hell was going on with all the new people (cause, ya know, I didn't watch most of last season), but I liked what I saw. Decent plot, decent characterization, the Asian chick (sorry I don't know her name) still kicked ass. Oh, and they had a real, live Marvel super-villain, one of my favorites: Crusher "Absorbing Man" Creel. He even had his ball and chain, for a short bit.
And, by Thor's Hammer!, he was freakin' HOTT. Especially when walking away wearing on a pair of like pajama pants. I mean, the chest was amazing, but the bootie under those jammies was rockin'!
Here, take a gander at him:
And the real sin lies in the fact that I could NOT find a photo of his ass in the light blue jammies.
But enough about him. For now. The show, was pretty good as I said. Just by coincidence, I had been at Sam's earlier in the day and found the first season on DVD. I debated getting it, really thought about turning it down, but in the end, picked it up. Thinking I'll watch it at some point in time.
Well after liking last night's episode, that time is NOW. Even while I type this.

4) The team I picked in the Winner's Pool at work, New England, won. YAY!
I'm four for four this week! Week 3 was a good week.
