So, A Local Celebrity, Mr. David ParisPeking came over this evening to help me set up the new computer (God bless his soul).  And just as I feared, there were problems from beginning to end.

He arrived about 4:45pm and left about 8:00, and things still weren't working right.  Now he did make a phone call, which was okay, no problem.  And we did walk to the Waynesburger so I could buy him supper, that whole thing probably took no more than a half hour or so, as well.

But in between there, there were problems with passwords, activation codes, black screens, a freeze, and now I've been waiting more than an hour for McAfee to uninstall itself.  *SIGH*

I just knew there was no way it go well, I could just feel it.  I've got the old computer up and running, but it's still on it's last legs.  I wanted to have the new one up and running tonight, but alas, it was not to be.  So I'll let the new computer on over night and we'll see if McAfee ends up uninstalling itself or not.  I dont hold out much hope for that....

Also, if the old computer goes totally tits up and I don't have the new one up and running yet, there may be a few days with no new Palace posts.  So if that occurs, you'll know what's going on.

Hopefully, this will all get straightened out soon....but again, I woulnd't bet on it.
