Went to work Saturday, but I only worked half a day. I left at noon, came home, showered, changed my clothes, and then headed out again to Michelle's. I picked her up, and off we went again, down to Shady Grove to get on the Metro.
We got off at Foggy Bottom, and I texted VUBOQ. We had made arrangements to have supper there with him. We had gotten there early and he was just on his way, so Michelle and I walked a few blocks, found an underground little food court, went there, got something to drink and some snacks, and sat there. We rested, drank, ate, talked and stayed cool in the air conditioning.
VUBOQ eventually texted and said he was almost to Foggy Bottom, so she and left walked back down there and waited. And soon, there was his sparkly awesomeness, VUBOQ! We hugged, said hi, I made introductions (and they hugged too!), and then we set off. The restaurant, District Commons, was literally around the corner from the Metro Stop. But we were early for our reservation, so we had to wait.
Which was just fine, as we got to talk more (and I got to check out the hot, dread wearing, black guy running the front desk). It was there VUBOQ gave me a bag with his gifts to me. They were two purple glazed pottery cups/mugs/vases, or whatever. And they are amazing!
Soon thereafter we were seated, and we had great food, and even better company (and VUBOQ had a couple strong martinis). We shared some pretzel bread, which was very tasty. I dont remember what they got to eat, but I had "Nana Sue's Meatloaf", which was delicious. It was a huge portion, on a bed of green beans in some kind of bacon sauce, and scalloped potatoes. I scarfed it all down pretty quickly.
With 20 minutes until start time, we left the restaurant, walked back to the Metro Center and got on one of the shuttles and off we went to the Kennedy Center. We got there, got inside into the beautiful majestic building and found our seats. And then Kinky Boots started.
It was an amazing show, just like when we first saw it (with different actors) in Toronto back in April. It's so high energy, fun, and funny, I laughed, I clapped along to the music, I smiled most of the way through (although there were three times when I teared up, just like I did in Toronto). Just a great show, a great great show!
Following the show, we got the shuttle to the Metro, the Metro to Shady Grove where the car was parked, and then drove back home. I turned out my bedroom light at about 1AM.
I finally got out of bed about 11:30 am. I took a shower, and then noticed on my phone two calls and a text from ALCMDPP and two calls and a text from Derick. I had turned my phone down all the way at the play and never turned it back up, so I missed all those.
I called ALCMDPP, he had wanted to get lunch, but since it was right after noon, he had already eaten. We decided to try to get supper Monday evening.
I also called Derick back. He wanted to bring back some movies he had borrowed. And he did. And while he was here, naturally there was some bedtimesexxyfun. When he left, I made myself some spaghetti, read the sunday paper, and was online.
On Friday, I had made arrangements for Will to visit again. Several weeks ago, Will and I had met online and he came over from some bedtimesexxyfun. We had tried to get together again, but he had plans, and then I was sick for over two weeks. But today, everything worked out well and a bit after 4, he arrived. We spend over two hours together, playing, cuddling, talking, playing again. It was quite fun. We've decided to get together again soon, but also to get together outside the bedroom, perhaps a movie or a meal. That should all be fun, when it occurs.
Anyway, I have some photos, naturally:
Michelle and I on the Metro.
VUBOQ and I at District Commons.
Inside the Kennedy Center.
There was this security guard and a large black German Shepard walking all through the place and the crowd.
At intermission I took a selfie with the Potomac River in the background.
The stage during intermission.
My cute, somewhat geeky Asian Metro boyfriend.
And a genuine VUBOQ pair of purple glazed pottery.
