Monday afternoon, I got a recorded phone call from the electric company. They were telling me Monday and Tuesday were going to be "Peak Days" and then I should do what I could to lessen my power usage, and if I wanted hints to do, I should check their webpage.

Well I scoffed.  Monday was scorching and humid and I had the a/c running, and the ceiling fan, and the TV on and on the laptop, and they were all staying on because I needed my comfort and distractions.  And on Tuesday, I would be at work, so I wouldn't have ANY unusual electrical usage.

Well today, I got another automated call from the electric company, telling me how I did.  On Tuesday, I was the 7th most efficient customer out of about 100 customers.  Monday, I was the 18th most efficient customer out of about 100 customers.

Nice.

Who knew I was so efficient at staying cool and entertained?
