I don't listen to much current music.  I listen to a classical station going to and from work most of the time, and then here around the house, I'll listen to My Thumbprint Station on Pandora....which only has songs I've liked, or ones similar.

I've never been a huge music fan, I like what I like, not what's playing on the radio at the moment.  But I'm gonna go through the winners of this year's Grammys (found a list on CNN) and check out the winners.

Best R&B Album
"H.E.R." - H.E.R. (I don't to R&B so its no surprise I've not heard of this artist or the album)

Best Country Album
"Golden Hour" - Kacey Musgraves (nope, not heard of either one here either [don't even know if Kacey is a guy or a girl])

Album Of The Year
:"Golden Hour" - Kacey Musgraves (see above)

Record Of The Year
"This Is America"  - Childish Gambino (I have heard this song, seen the video and know the artist...I enjoy Mr. Glover's work as an singer and actor.  What I love BEST about this win, is that it's gonna make conservatives' heads explode when they see what the song is about!)

Song Of The Year
"This Is America" - Childish Gambinoi (see above)

Best New Artist
Dua Lipa (no idea if this is a man, woman, a group, or an alien from the Star Wars universe)

Best Pop Solo Performance
"Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin?" - Lady Gaga (of COURSE I know who Lady Gaga is, but I'm pretty sure I've not heard the song. Of if I have, I can't recall it)

Best Pop Vocal Album
"Sweetener"  - Ariana Grande (heard of her, of course, but I can't think of a single song she's sung)

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
"Shallow" - Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper (I know both of these people, and I know this is from last year's movie A Star Is Born. I also know I've heard a song from that movie on the radio once or twice, but no idea what the title was, or even how the song went)

Best Rap Album
"Invasion Of Privacy" - Cardi B (heard of her, probably heard a song of hers at one point but I couldn't name a song of hers, by title or verse, to save my life)

Best Rap Album
"God's Plan" - Drake (heard of him, of course. Heard a couple of his songs before but I have no idea if they're from this album or a previous one)

Best Country Song
"Space Cowboy" - Kacey Musgraves (see above)

Best R&B performance
"Best Part" - H.E.R. featuring Daniel Caesar (see above, and I've no idea who Mr. Caesar is either.)

That's all the listed.  Maybe they're just the ones they televised, cause I know there's a whole ton of other categories.  Nonetheless, of all these 13, I have only heard 1 song for sure, and only heard OF perhaps half of the artists.

Music nowadays....pffft, whatever.

And now, *shakes fist*, get off my lawn ya whippersnappers!
