Badass Birthday
On this day, in 1928, was born Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
In the prudish Reagan 80s, she was running a radio show where she vividly and unabashedly discussed sexual issues. I remember listening to her while I was in college in 1986. A very daring thing to do in those years. But that alone is not makes her a badass. In addition to all this, she survived the Holocaust! She was sent to I think Switzerland during it, but as a Jewish girl, her life was always in danger anyway. Sadly, Dr. Ruth passed away last year at the age of 96.
