Missing down, I'm feeling like a piece of me is gone.....

So something happened to me today that I don't think ever happened before.

(and at my age, how often do I get to say THAT anymore?)

I had started a new book this morning (Marvel Comics the Untold Story).

I'm chugging along, thoroughly enjoying myself reading about the beginning way back circa 1940.  I'm reading about superstars like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.  I get to page 22 and suddenly.....the book't not making any sense.

I look down, and now I'm on page 55.  There IS no pages 23-54!  I looked back through the book so see if maybe those pages were put somewhere else...but no, they're just not there.  They're gone!

I have no idea where or when I got this book, but I know I've had it quite a while.  It doesn't have an Ollie's or Sam's sticker, so I know I didn't get it there. I go back through my old orders on Barnes&Noble and Amazon, and nope, not there.  I even check other places I ordered from like Thinkgeek or SuperheroStuff or TwoMorrows Publishing or Noble Knight Games, where I might have ordered it.  But nope not there either.  I wanted to return it, or rather exchange it for an undamaged copy.  but honest to God I have no idea where I got it from!

So now....well I guess I'll just have to put it aside...or use it as a paperweight (it IS a hardback book).

But anyway, I started a new book, the one you see on the sidebar now: The King Must Die, by Mary Renault.  One of her books, The Persian Boy, is one of my favorite books of all time, so I have some pretty high expectations.  I hope it lives up to it....
