Light Lass/Lightning Lass
Twins are the norm on the planet Winath. Single births are considered weird. Garth and Ayla Ranzz were twins. They both ended up getting hit with the lightning bolts from the Lightning Beasts of Korbal, and they both gained the power of shooting lighting bolts themselves. Garth was a Legion founder under the name Lightning Lad.
At one point, Lightning Lad was killed. After a while, his sister made an authentic disguise and impersonated him in the Legion, until she was discovered. Then she just became Lightning Lass.
Eventually, Lightning Lad was returned to life (it IS comic books after all). But the Legion had a rule that each member must have a unique power, not copied by any other. And so, Lightning Lass was preparing to leave the team.
But about that time Dream Girl, who had a surprisingly extensive knowledge of metegenic physiology, modified Ayla's powers, giving her instead of Lighting powers, the power to make things un-heavy and light and floating, and she stayed on the team by the name Light Lass.
After many years, she was attacked repeatedly by her single birth supervillain brother Lighting Lord and through this constant bombardment of his lightning bolts, she regained her orginial lightning powers.
The Legion had become a bit lax in some criteria and so they probably wouldn't have had an issue with her and her brother on the team, but Garth at that time decided to retire and become a full time father to his sons. So Ayla remained with the Legion as Lightning Lass until the team disbanded following the Magic Wars.
