Today's map shows when the various states ratified the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, giving the right to vote to women.

All the dark blue states ratified it before 1920, when the amendment took effect.  Perhaps not surprisingly, the south was quite resistant to pass this, even those the amendment was already in place.  In fact, Mississippi didn't even do so until the 1980s.  Shameful.
