Today In The History Of Polt's Comic Book Collection
Today, we're going back 40 years to October, 1978. and the Justice League Of America #159.
I had been picking up comic books for several years by this time. Usually, I just picked up whatever cover looked the coolest, irregardless of title. And that's probably why my 10 year old self picked this up: the cover looked cool.
But I vividly remember reading it and getting to the end and seeing that it was continued next month. And I said to myself, "I better make sure I get this title next month, to see how it ends!" And I did. And I enjoyed the two parter so much, I decided to make sure I got the JLA each month.
And that's what started my comic book collecting! All from this one issue here.
This issue also started my fascination with the Justice Society of America and everything Earth-2 related. But that's another story.
This is a very special issue to me, because it is what started my collection. It's so special, that I planned to be buried with it. Don't know what'll happen to all my other comic books, but this one issue I want to spend eternity with me, both of us slowly decomposing together.
