My birthday song, my happy birthday (Part 377)....

 Badass Birthday

On this date, 102 years ago in 1924, in New Orleans, Truman Capote was born.

Truman Capote was a novelist, screenwriter and playwright.  Several of his novels, short stories and plays are considered classics. He wrote Breakfast At Tiffany's and In Cold Blood among others.

He was also openly gay at a time when it was neither safe nor desirable to be so.  He never embraced the Gay Rights Movement, but just by not hiding who he was he helped a lot of other gay men and women.

He passed in 1984 at the age of 59.

He was truly a literary badass.

 Check This Out!

Well, it's after Labor Day in an election year, so OF COURSE the Republicans have to drag out this old, dead horse and beat it some more.

I mean, they've done absolutely nothing to benefit the American people in the last two years and in fact they've done, or allowed to be done, things that have actively harmed the American people.  So, since they have nothing to run on, they go with the only thing they've had, certainly for the last 15-20 years.

And that is: Fear and hatred.

They've hoping that this caravan that seemingly only pops up once every 2 twos in the fall, will scare enough of the their brainless, racist, hate-filled supporters to the polls.

One would think those same supporters would care more about the cost of the food on their table, or the cost of the gas in their cars, or the loss of American lives in the Middle East.  But of course, sometimes, racist, brainless, hate overrules sensible logical things when it comes to these MAGAmorons.

However, we have normal people having a LOT of fun with this insanity.  See below:

If it weren't so damned serious, it would be seriously hilarious.

My birthday song, my happy world (Part 376)...

 Badass Birthday

On this day, in 1758, in Burnham Thorpe, England, Horatio Nelson was born.

Horatio Nelson was a British Royal Navy Officer whose strategic genius, unconventional tactics and amazing leadership skills allowed him to win multiple decisive naval victories in French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.   His legendary success at the Battle Of Trafalgar in 1805 solidified Britain's Navy as the best in the world and gave them command of the seas for more then a century.

Admiral Nelson however was killed in the same Battle Of Trafalgar on board his flag ship the HMS Victory, at the ager of 47.  He was given a state burial and given his own memorial, Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, London. In 2002, he was included in the list of the 100 Greatest Britons Of All Time.

The back of your hand, somewhere on my behind (Part 873)...

 Tooshie Tuesdays

This week, we have Tooshies and Plain, White, Old School Bike Jockstraps!

These were all that were available back when I was in Middle School and High School and we were required to have one for gym class.  And seeing all those jocks (and non-jocks) wandering around the locker room in just those jockstraps probably had something to do with my lifelong fascination with those undergarments.
