Badass Birthday
Today, in 1930, was born Harvey Milk. He was the first openly gay elected official I believe in the nation. He was elected a city supervisor of San Francisco. During his too short tenure he advocated for and got passed a groundbreaking anti-discrimination law. He was assassinated in November 1978 by Dan White, a fellow city supervisor, who got away with it using the 'twinkie' defense. Nonetheless, Milk because a LGBTQ+ martyr and hero.
