Today In The History Of Polt's Comic Book Collection
Today, we travel back to November of 1977 and DC Comics' Showcase #95.
Firstly, I didn't buy this one off the rack, but perhaps 5 to 7 years later I ordered (through the mail, it was like 25 years before Amazon) the trilogy that this one was the middle issue of.
Secondly, DC's Showcase was a title that highlighted obscure or new characters for two to three issues. It started in 1965. So basically every three months or so, this was essentially a new title.
Thirdly, the Doom Patrol had been a group DC ran in the 60s. The team sacrificed themselves in 1968 to save the lives of a small island of innocents in Maine (this was done because their title was being canceled). But nearly 10 years later, DC made a new team and premiered them in Showcase.
