Badass Birthday
Back in 1868, in Texas, was born Scott Joplin, the "King of Ragtime".
The work that made him famous was 1899's The Maple Leaf Rag. You may not know that title, but you absolutely know the song.
But if this isn't enough, he also created the song "The Entertainer", which is basically the only song I learned to play on the piano when I was taking lessons 45 years ago or so.
He passed away in 1917 at the age of 49.
