Badass Birthday
On this day, 86 years ago in Maryland was born Lil Mary.
That's her with her grand-pupper Kraus. Who is Lil Mary you ask? She is my Work Mom. She was there a few years before I started and worked up until a few years ago when she had to retire for due to medical issues. But she came to work, day in and day out, until she was 83 years old. She had nearly identical political leanings as me so we got along great from the start. Not sure how long she worked there, certainly it was over 30 years. She worked at a desk in the Records department, so it wasn't a strenuous job, but ANY job you have to 30 freakin years or more is impressive I think.
She and I hung out earlier in the year, I went to her place for a meal and we talked a lot, just like we did when she was working and I'd stop by her office. And we exchange cards in the mail periodically throughout the year too, those are always nice to get.
But her dedication and working as late in life as she did, certainly has earned her the badass designation!

why is call "LIL" Mary? Well she stands all of 5 feet tall (maybe) and she may wear 100 pounds, but I wouldn't be totally sure about it. But what she lacked in stature, she made up for in spunkiness and determination!
