Badass Birthday
Only this day, in 1867 in Louisiana, was born Madam C.J.Walker.
Now you may be asking who is Madam C. J. Walker? And that's a legitimate question, cause I hadn't heard of her most of my life. She developed and endorsed a range of cosmetics and hair care products for Black women. She eventually became the first self-made female millionaire in the USA. And she was an activist too, making charitable donations to several organizations like the NAACP. And all this in the time of Jim Crow laws and rampant overt racism in most of the country. THAT is the epitome of badass.
Sadly she passed in 1919 at the age of 51. Still a badass though.
