So the Republicans have unveiled thier spending cut plan. It elminates Americorps and The Corporation For Public Broadcasting, as well as huge slashes in programs that help the poor. All to the tune of $61 billion in savings.

Whoop-de-freakin-do.

That's less than 1% of the current budget. And yet, they KEEP a $70 billion tax subsidy to Oil companies.

If they were REALLY serioues about cutting the deficit, they could save $700 billion right off the bat by returning the tax rate on the richest 6600 families in the USA to 1999 levels. Oh but no, we could never hurt the rich or big business. Screw the poor, but we gotta keep federal money going to the rich and big business.
