I've not been feeling well. My throat's been a bit sore, since at least Saturday night. I've had a slight fever (100.2) for a few days, the back of my neck has been tight and I've been achey. I took off work today, and consumed Theraflu and Alka-Seltzer and Advil. I read a lot. I did go out onto the front porch for about a half hour and read, just to get some fresh air, but other than that and running to CVS to get some resupply of cold meds, I've been in the house all day.
The illness, however, has not diminished my shamelessness.
I had called mom last night when I called in to work and took off, to let her know I'd be home today and she should call me here, not at work, if she needed anything. And during that conversation, she asked if I needed anything, to which I said no.
But today, about 330, I called her and asked if she was planning on making any chicken corn soup anytime soon. She laughed and said no, but she COULD make some, if I wanted her to. So I asked her too. And she brought it in about 515ish. And I had two bowls of it.
There is nothing better when you're sick than a bowl (or two) or Mama Polt's Homemade Chicken Corn Soup! It is SO good. And so good for you! (I know, I know, all that corn is not good for the diabetuuuuuuuuus, but in situations like this, one has to perform triage)
But yeah, I had no issue calling my mommy and asking her to make it for me. See? Shameless.
