Last Easter, because of the COVID lockdown, for the only time in my 53 years on this Earth, I did not eat Easter lunch with mom. She had made an Easter meal and brought me some in after they had eaten out there. SO I did have Easter lunch, just not with mom.
Today, however, since Mom, Howard and I are all fully vaccinated, we could all eat out there. I still wore my mask when not eating, I stayed six feet away from them, or as best as I could, and they sat at one end of the table and I at the other end. And it was a delicious meal. Afterwards we sat in the living (me with my mask, keeping a safe distance) and chatted for about an hour. And then we put my new car seats on Belle. And I just now finished my supper of leftovers (still delicious).
Lunch: Ham, deviled eggs, corn, sweet potatoes, cole slaw and warm rolls.
And even at my age, mom still gets me an Easter basket every year. This year, in a purple basket, I had cashews, sugar free strawberry wafers, sugar free chocolate, packets of oatmeal, and two hand painted hard boiled eggs. And the box that had contained the car seats.
All in all a great holiday....much better than last year, certainly.
