Appreciate, then you can, ring my bell (Part 1)....

 Perez Appreciation Post

In light of the sad, SAD news of comic boy artist George Perez's cancer diagnosis, I've decided to make a semi-regular post.  At least as long as he lives.

And there's only one place to begin: with The New Teen Titans #1 from November 1980.

This beauty was drawn by George and inked by the great Romeo Tanghal.   The Teen Titans had been around since the late 60s, but they had been canceled for a couple years, and the title wasn't doing very well before it was canceled.  So, with Marv Wolfman writing, they rebooted the team, using three previous members, one ally, and three brand new heroes.  And they turned this group into the best selling title DC put out.  In the early 80s, the New Teen Titans and the Uncanny X-men over at Marvel were the best selling titles in the industry, being heads and shoulder above all the other titles produced!

The cover though shows Kid Flash, Robin, Changling and Cyborg on the ground.  And in the air, is Starfire, Raven, and Wonder Girl.
