Just heard Loretta Lynn died today.
This saddens me. Anyone who knows me knows I am NOT a country music fan. But there are a few I've always liked: Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Loretta Lynn. Yes, they're all old time musicians, their heydays were in the 60s and 70s...but that's before country music became all twangy and talking about putting a boot up your ass was they American way., etc.
One of my favorite films is indeed "A Coal Miner's Daughter." Saw it in the theater, I think with my mom, when I was 12. Have seen it many many times since then. Sissy Spacek is just amazing, but even more amazing is the life that Loretta Lynn led.
She was 90 years old.
Rest In Peace
POLT
