 Today In The History Of Polt's Comic Book Collection

Today we go back to November, 1977 and Marvel's Champions #16.

I didn't but this one off the rack, but I did end up buying all 17 issues.

It was a...unique series.  Made up of a very unusual combination of heroes: Angel, Black Widow, Hercules, Iceman, and Ghost Rider.  Not 5 heroes who would ever seem to work together

It had a bunch of different artists and a bunch of different writers, so continuity was difficult to maintain.  And it was publish from '75 to '78....3 years and only 17 issues.  It had a very erratic publication history, sometimes monthly, sometimes bimonthly. 

All of this made it difficult to get and keep an audience, and that's why it only lasted 17 issues.
